Wednesdays 1-3 PM, Fridays 10 AM-2 PM | Franklin Avenue Library Join us inside Rosie’s Rocket for this open play, come-and-go program. Play, Grow, Learn is an opportunity to meet families with other young children and engage in the Five Simple Steps to Success: Read, Write, Sing, Play, and Talk. We will have a variety of toys available in Rosie’s Rocket that promote learning for little ones.

All Summer Long Celebration Friday, August 6 | North Side Library Celebrate the end of our All Summer Long summer reading program! Stop by the library to enjoy art, STEM, and literacy activity stations for the whole family.

Charamusca (Ice Pop) Fun Day Friday, August 6, 4 PM | Forest Avenue Library Come play with us! Enjoy an ice pop with us while we play some outdoor games outside on the library lawn. Paint Yourself Calm Family Watercolor Workshop Saturday, August 7, 10:00 AM | Zoom Join us for a family friendly watercolor workshop where you will learn to paint a soothing piece of artwork in this program led by watercolorist Lisa Christensen. We will be painting a beautiful piece of artwork. This project is perfect for kids and beginner watercolorists. Registration required.

Eulenspiegel Puppets Presents Magical Fish and Mermaids Saturday, August 7, 11 AM | East Side Library Join us to celebrate the end of Summer Reading with a magical puppet show from the renowned Eulenspiegel puppets. CROSSROADS: A Journey with the Blues

Saturday, August 7, 2-4 PM | Forest Avenue Library Staff from DMACC Admissions will be here to help you through the class registration process. Meet representatives from DMACC’s Workforce Training Academy, learn about financial aid with materials from the Iowa College Access Network, or talk to Drake admissions staff about transferring credits. Activities and snacks will be provided for kids. Help in Spanish will be available, as well.

Community advocates from Primary Health Care, Central Iowa Shelter & Services, and Hope Ministries will offer help and support to those in need at Central Library.
