Fernando Air Base Integrated National High School SHS Modules and Outputs Retrieval January 12 was the scheduled retrieval day for Senior High School. All of the teachers lend a hand in preparation for the collection of modules and outputs. A day before the retrieval, the teachers sorted and wrote the respective control number for the modules to be distributed the following day. Fruit crates were also utilized to organize the outputs and modules of SHS students.

All sorts of available resources were maximized to ensure thatlearners will be reached so they can do the tasks in the monitoring tool checklist.

Likewise, the idea of a systematic and orderly collection of outputs (Weeks 1&2) was conceived .Teachers decided to use small crates or box for each subject so that the subject teachers could bring their outputs home after disinfection.

Based on the previous experience, sorting of outputs took some time before the Learning Tasks and other exercises were handed to the subject teachers.

Some were misplaced and mixed up.

Will this idea work?

Teachers’ Dilemma Despite the confusion brought by late production and delivery of self-learning modules, the G7 teachers manage to handle the situation well.

They did not mind going home late just to make sure that

91.80% of the total population of Grade 7 arrived early this morning January 13 for another set of modules. Parents patiently waited for their turn as the teachers call their names.

While some parents submitted the completed tasks for weeks 1 and 2 in less than 15 minutes , others stayed for more than 15 minutes because their learning tasks were not properly labelled. This situationmade them uncomfortable because they knew they were causing delay and the long queue of parents waiting started. “Naku, hindi naman kasi inayos ng batang iyon e..sabi nya ay okay na daw”..sighed a parent. Others said,” padala lang ho ito sa akin ng mga kapitbahay ko at hindi po makaalis gawa ng may maliit ho e..”

Filipino and ESP learning materials were not distributed last week thus, these two materials were prepared before the schedule of retrieval of learners output.

Parents have responded well to the call. They were advised to follow health protocols in coming to school such as wearing of face shield and face mask. The body temperature was also checked before entering the school premise to ensure the safety of everyone. A set of schedule was followed to ensure that social distancing would be observed.

HOW IT TURNED OUT? The numb er of claimed learning outputs is still much higher than the number of unclaimed learning outputs on this first distribution. Out of 474 listed learners, 432 were retrieved by the advisers, and 42 were not retrieved: 5 each from Cattleya, and Zinnia; 9 from Camia; 4 each from Ilang Ilang and Rosal, 2 each from Gumamela, and Waling Waling; 3 from Dahlia, 1 from Sampaguita: and 7 from Daisy. This accounts to 91.14% received learner’s output from the total population of the Grade 8 level. The parents

who were not able to come were advised to submit the outputs of their child the following week.

IIt is true that the current pandemic have disrupted traditional schooling practices, however this set-up could gear in building a character of interdependence, discipline and responsibility among learners. With great hope, as long as we hold the passion for learning, continued education will prevail.

This is the quote where grade 9 teachers used to- this 14th day of January 2021 during the distribution and retrieval of students learning materials. Everyone joined together hands-in-hands to achieved another success.

Two days before the retrieval, teachers sorted all learning materials needed to be distributed- another set of four learning modules, summative test and performance task. Fruit crates were used and labelled to different subject areas wherein parents sorted and organize the retrieval outputs of Grade 9 students.

During Distribution and Retrieval process advisers are in designated areas for the distribution while others- non advisers serve as Marshals- they are in other areas assigned to them like ground floors, hallways to assure that everyone strictly follows the necessary heath protocols like checking temperatures, wearing face masks and face shields, follow the social distancing and where people must enter and get into exit. Two rooms were utilized to adhere to the social distancing policy. After the parents have submitted the outputs, they received the next batch of modules for the weeks.

It was recorded that out of 471 Grade 9 students, about 459 learning modules has been distributed which means 97.45% of the total population of parents and guardians participated during this activity.

With the guidance of the Assistant School Principal Mr. Leonides Kundangan together with the department head Mrs. Dulce Manaog and full forced of Grade 9 faculty, it was indeed another successful distribution and retrieval.

>> On January 14, 2021, Grade 10 teachers arrived early in school to prepare the learning materials in Filipino, EsP, TLE and MAPEH for the distribution.

All the materials were packed in red envelops and placed in designated classrooms.

The distribution and retrieval of learning materials started at exactly 12 noon.

Grade 10 sections were properly distributed across all the school buildings to avoid overcrowding of parents and guardians. Sections Narra, Yakal and Mahogany occupied Building 1; Molave, Mulawin and Lawan housed in Building 2; Acacia, Gemelina and Antipolo were in Building 3; and Ipil, Talisay, Kamagong and Tanguile used Building 4.

The guardians and parents of the students practiced

social distancing and proper health protocols (wearing of masks and face shields, carrying own alcohols and pens) as per guidance and directives of the assigned non-advising teachers in every building.

Each parents approached the advisers of their children to submit the required learning tasks and to consult as well some concerns regarding student’s learning and other school matters It was recorded that 488 out of 490 parents and guardians (99.6%) were able to take part in the said activity. It was indeed a successful distribution and retrieval of learning materials.

SHS Modules and Outputs Retrieval January 12 was the scheduled retrieval day for Senior High School. All of the teachers lend a hand in preparation for the collection of modules and outputs. A day before the retrieval, the teachers sorted and wrote the respective control number for the modules to be distributed the following day. Fruit crates were also utilized to organize the outputs and modules of SHS students. The different subject areas were labeled in these fruit crates for parents and guardians’ convenience in the retrieval.

FABINHS still ensured safety health protocols. Social distancing and wearing of mask and face shield were strictly observed. The school nurse, Ms. Polvorosa who was assisted by Sir Ronald Balita, a Mathematics teacher checked the parent’s temperature and guided them where to submit the outputs and modules.

The retrieval of outputs and modules started at around 8:00 in the morning. All ground floors served as the receiving area for parents who will be returning the modules while all the 2nd floors of the four buildings became the place for the submission of

the outputs of the SHS students. Two rooms were utilized to adhere to the social distancing policy.

After the parents have submitted the outputs, they were instructed to go to the next room to receive the next batch of modules for weeks 3 and 4.

The school was fortunate to have the PSDS for Secondary Dr. Evangeline B. Escabel witnessed the smooth returning of learning materials. Dr. Escabel monitored the checking of temperature among parents and guardians. She also visited each building to check on the teachers and to ensure that health protocols and guidelines were strictly implemented.

The whole day of January 12 were maximized for the retrieval and sorting of the expected modules from Senior High School students. With the guidance of the Assistant School Principal Mr. Leonides Kundangan and full cooperation of all SHS faculty, the retrieval became successful and indeed organized.
