In the story The Wizard of Oz, the wizard gives the scarecrow brains, the tin woodcutter a heart, the cowardly lion courage, and Dorothy strength to go home. The wizard’s biggest secret is that each one of them already possesses the tools they think they lack - and the wizard’s job was just to remind them.
Based on this idea, Virginia Satir developed a set of tools, a set of internal resources that everyone already has, but we often forget to use when we feel powerless.
When you are faced with a problem, roll the dice. Look at the image of the tool that lands face-up, recall the abilities that you have but may have overlooked, and think about the next step. 《More Secrets of Consulting》by Gerald Weinberg
