AB UT THE FESTIVAL
OUTFEST
Outfest was founded in 1982 in Los Angeles and is a leading organization that promotes LGBTQ equality by creating, sharing and protecting LGBTQ stories on the screen.
Academy has brought a mini version to New Zealand with select international premiers, major new releases, independent foreign language, and documentaries.
We’ll have a series of docu short films from OUTFEST Fusion. Films that screen at Fusion showcase the stories of queer communities of color.

OUTLINE
Throughout the festival, we’ll be making a donation of the proceeds and collecting donations for Outline.
This New Zealand helpline is staffed by self-accepting GLBTTFIQQ people who have trained to help others over the phone in issues around sexual identity. From the group’s inception in 1972 its main focus has been the telephone helpline, originally Gayline, but since 1982 has been Gay/Lesbian Line, and is now known as OUTLine.
