About me

Hi, my name is Carmen and I am a graphic designer and a Adobe Certified Professional.

My background in Art History gave me an understanding about composition, color theory and art movements.

In 2022 I took part in the Graphic Design for Print & Social Media course provided by ETB Tipperary where

I had the opportunity to be trained in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere and After Effects and get the official certifications.

I am always learning about Graphic Design through courses and videos that keep me updated and allow me to continue improving my design skills.

COVER DESIGN Lucid Dreams

The aim of the brief was to create a cover for a book called "Dreams".

To generate as many ideas as possible I realized a mindmap. I ended up linking it to lucid dreams and how this is a state of conciousnes while being asleep. That led me to the idea that this is a state of opposites: being awake while dreaming. I

decided that this could be a good idea for the cover design. To inspire and define the idea, I created a moodboard where I chose the colour pallete, the fonts and the overall style.

POSTER DESIGN Yves SaintLaurent

I designed this poster for one of the Yves SaintLaurent perfume using Photoshop. I did some colour corrections in the photography and applied a brush for the background.

Green Biztropolis is a company that makes and distributes romantic movies. The target market are single woman and they were asking for an advertisment with a modern style.

This project is about a logo design for a construction company called Peacock builders.

I started the project researching other companies of the like in Ireland, in order to get an overall image about their logos and positioning.

After that, I looked for construction images in order to get some inspiration.

Lastly I started to create different alternatives and ideas for the logo. The logo is a combination of a building and a house shown in the negative space that can be read as an upright arrow .

HANDSHAKE ice cream

Handshake Ice cream is a logo project for a new ice cream shop.

I designed the logo using the golden ratio, as you can see in the image below. The mockups show how this logo would look like in a facebook page or in a shopfront.

I also selected what could be the brand colours.

Following with the same ice cream topic I design six different icons that could be used for social media or print projects.
