A ribbon cutting ceremony was held July 14 at Hen’s Teeth Primitives at 2217 Route 17C in Owego. Hen’s Teeth Primitives focuses on gifts, farmhouse, primitive, and country decor. With the help of 16 vendors, the new shop features other items including salt lamps, essential oils, bath and body products, jewelry, wreaths, food, and other unique items.
Hen’s Teeth Primitives is owned by local couple Ben and Teresa Warren. Ben makes handcrafted furniture and home decor from barn wood and upcycled items in the old chicken barn of the family farm. Teresa paints signs, repurposes items, and paints furniture. The shop is open Wednesday through Saturday 10:00 am to 5:00, and Sunday 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

August 12 – Annual Wool Waulking. Visitors and staff finish tweed fabric woven at the museum in the old way. There may be some singing of traditional Gaelic songs to accompany the work. August 19 – HTTM Open for Tours from 10 - 4. Also a Lecture by HTTM Curator Pat Hilts on Rag Rugs at 1:00 pm. Wed-Fri August 23-25 – Timber Frame Loom Workshop with Pat Hilts. This is a 3 day workshop. 10:00 – 4:00. Fee: $100, Materials: $20. Class size: Max 8. August 26 – HTTM Open for Tours. Also a Lecture on HTTM’s 1820s English Threshing Barn by Dick Warner at 1:00 pm.
