The October meeting of Tioga Region will be a joint meeting with Iroquois Region. We will meet at the Susquehanna Nursing Home on Riverside Drive in Johnson City. The date is October 15, 2014 at 7:00PM. This will be the third in a series of meetings that will feature Mihran Melkonian (I am sure that I have murdered his name). This individual has a remarkable knowledge of the history of the automobile not only in the triple cities but in the USA. In the past he has spoken of the automobile dealers of the southern tier, the

cars that he has owned some of which were automobiles that we now call classics. This meeting he will be talking about the founding fathers of the automobile, some of whom he has met and talked with. Mihran had one of the most extensive collections of automobilia in United States. This collection is now being cata-

loged and liquidated by volunteers in the state. It is feared that this will be one of the last chances to have Mihran talk to auto enthusiasts as he is now living in a nursing facility that will be his final residence. Both Tioga Region and Iroquois Region will have a brief business meeting before the featured appearance of Mihran.

The members of Iroquois Region on the committee are George Simon, Frank Whitney, and an as yet to be named third party. It is the hope of Iroquois Region that a woman from their region will agree to fill the third member position. The duties of the consolidation committee are not fully defined at this time as the full scope of consolidation is still bership in Tioga and somewhat unknown. The more important issues are a smooth and efficient transition into the future organization, a selection of competent leadership, a comprehensive recruiting of interested new members, and a co-operation between all persons involved in both our regions. The future of our hobby is not in divisions but in inclusions. You need to voice your concerns to the consolidation committee if we are to succeed! We need your support and your input. It is our duty to make the new club exactly the club you will be proud to belong to!!!!
