Tioga Transmission The Official Newsletter of Tioga Region Antique Automobile Club of America P.O. Box 607, Owego, N.Y. 13827

November 2012 Hi All; I hope you will forgive me for the change in format and length of this newsletter. This month will be a very busy time for Cheryl and I as we will be traveling more than usual. We have just learned that our oldest son, Rob, has been diagnosed with Leukemia and will be receiving treatment soon. As a result, we will be going to Virginia to help with transportation, food preparation and staying ahead of three teenaged boys. I hope to be here for our meeting on the 19th , but will have briefed Joe in some of the information we need to cover if we are called away at that time. Yes, the meeting is November 19,2012 at the Tioga County Office Building, Conference Room, 7:00PM. This month’s meeting is important as we will be looking to the next year and our plans for tours and other events. Your suggestions for outings are needed as well as welcomed. We also will be looking at the election of officers that will be held at our December meeting. If you have names or a name that you wish to nominate for office, now is the time to bring it up. The plans for our winter flea market are now being made and will be another topic at the meeting. We hope to create a new office for the club, Publicity Chair, which we hope will be filled by Denel Vaglica. This position will take some of the responsibility off Howard in the coming year. The Publicity Chair will also report to local media our activities both upcoming and just past. This will keep the public informed of our activities and hopefully will create more interest in new membership. I have been in touch with representatives of A.A.C.A. national to see what help they might be in making our club a stronger and more inviting unit and am pleased to tell you that there are some exciting new ideas I will be bringing to you in the next few meetings. Our December meeting will once again be our Christmas meeting at Donoli’s in Apalachin. We need to make a decision as to the menu for this party. The meats available are; roast top round of beef with gravy& aujus, broiled or fried haddock, ham, with pineapple, chicken parmigiana, homemade meatballs or sausage in marinara and their famous chicken wings. We will have a choice of three.

The starches are also a choice of three; Scalloped, roasted, or mashed potatoes, eggplant parmigiana, cheese ravioli, baked ziti, or lasagna. The choice of veggies are; mixed veggies, carrots, green beans, or broccoli. We have a choice of only one of the veggies. We also will have a fresh garden salad bar, garlic bread, and coffee service. We need to have your input to make the decisions as to the final menu, call Cheryl at her cell phone 607-727-2486 by December first so she can inform the restaurant of our decision. The cost will be $22.00 including tax and tip per person but we need to decide how much if any of the cost will be covered by the club. The party is being held December 10,2012 from 6:00 PM to about 9:30PM. Those interested in stronger libations can order and pay for them in the attached bar. As you can see there is still a lot of fun coming this winter even if our cars have been put into storage.
