Our annual breakfast meeting was held April 21st at the Blue Dolphin in Apalachin, New York. We had 24 members in attendance. There was a slight mix-up in the reservation that caused some quick maneuvering to fit us in that resulted in an unusual meeting format.

car show there. We had been informed that the park would open for day use on April 23rd, but there would be no electric, water, or sewer connected in time for the opening or even in the foreseeable future.

The main concern was the condition of The Hickories Park and the likelihood of us being able to hold the

More Furniture field. Leonard Hilldale, owner of the above mentioned business, attended the meeting and assured us of his intentions to work with us for the success of the show. By the way, Leonard is now in the process of becoming our newest member. We also began to plan for a weekly cruise-in at the Beds 4 Kids location to help raise monies for the rebuilding of Owego after the flood. As a post note to this plan, the proceeds look at this time to be going to replace equipment that was lost by the Owego Fire Department (Continued page 2)

April Meeting Continued There will be a Barbeque pit installed at the Beds 4 Kids location by Leonard and his people as well as a restored 100 year old 6 burner gas stove with double oven for the use of the local organization that will benefit from the proceeds. The plan is to open the cruise-in

to all car clubs in the southern tier with little or no effort on the part of Tioga Region as to the operation of the event. I do though urge all our members to support this program as this is a much needed fund raiser for our flood victims. It is possible that we will have other organizations that will be recipients of the proceeds as the summer progresses.

May Meeting. During the April meeting, Bob and Lois Holmes suggested that we might enjoy an additional dinner meeting for the summer. As a result the Holmes and the Klingensmiths enjoyed a lunch at the Parkview Restaurant. in Owego. This historic building was built in the eighteen hundreds and, although it was hit by the flood, is now well on the way to becoming a showcase restaurant in downtown Owego. We will be meeting at this location on May 21st at6:00PM. The menu for our meeting has been chosen to make it easier for the staff to accommodate a large group while appealing to a varied diet.

The three dishes that we have chosen we hope will meet the taste needs of all. Menu 1. Pulled Pork sandwich with cole slaw and mac & cheese $7.95 2. Irish Beef Dip and cole slaw tender slices of beef with melted cheese on a toasted hard roll with aujus for dipping. $7.25 3 Broiled Talapia on Rice with vegetable and bakery fresh roll. $7.95 Beverage, tax, and tip extra. Parkview Restaurant 145 Front Street Owego. Plenty of parking beside the restaurant. Please call Lois Holmes for reservations 607-748-9657 by Friday 5/11.

Safety Banners The safety banners have come in already! These Bright orange flannel backed banners will be hard to miss on the back of our cars when we are on tour. I was a little surprised to see that the AACA logo was in the tan of the fabric on the orange background.

I ordered ten banners and nine of them were spoken for. That means that there is one banner still available to the first to call for it. As soon as the banners came in I took them to All Star Sports and for an additional $5.00 had the club name and the words “on

Tour” added. This addition is in black against the orange background. The banners are a good way for us to get our name out there for the public to know we are around, as well as trying to keep our group together on tour.

My Inconclusive Travel Plans for 2012 I have been in many places, but I’ve never been in Cahoots. Apparently, you can’t go there alone. You have to be in Cahoots with someone. I have also never been in Cognito. I hear no one recognizes you there. I have, however been in Sane. They don’t have an airport, you have to be driven there. I have made several trips there, thanks to my bosses, work, and politicians who affect my life, not to mention my children.

I would like to go to Conclusions, but you have to jump, and I’m not too much into physical activity anymore since my retirement.

I have also been in Doubt. That is a sad place to go, and I try not to visit there too often.

Life is too short for negative drama and petty things. So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly.

I’ve been in Flexible, but only when it was very important to stand firm. Sometimes I’m in Capable, and I go there more often as I’m getting older. One of my favorite places to be is in Suspense! It
