COASTAL HERITAGE SOCIETY
Savannah has a long, layered history, and the Coastal Heritage Society helps preserve it across six remarkable museums.
Begin at the Savannah History Museum for a quick look at the city’s timeline, then head to the Georgia State Railroad Museum to see impressive locomotives and openair industrial spaces. Families will love the Savannah Children’s Museum and its new indoor STEAM Center, Numbers in Nature, featuring hands-on exhibits and a mirror maze.
CHS also includes the Pin Point Heritage Museum, preserving a historic GullahGeechee community, along with Old Fort Jackson and Battlefield Memorial Park, two key military sites.
Collectively, these six museums highlight the history that shapes Savannah today, a meaningful stop for anyone exploring the city.
