Recalibrating your Goals for the Second Half of 2023

• REVISIT YOUR GOALS AFTER JUNE RESULTS ARE IN: You will want to see where you are before making any suggestions/decisions.

• DECIDE IF YOU ARE AHEAD OR BEHIND ON EACH GOAL: Are you ahead of schedule or results on some goals, and behind on others?

• CONSIDER IF YOU WILL ADJUST TARGETS: Were the targets appropriate and/or can you make up the lost ground on the ones that are lagging in results? If you are way ahead of the target at this stage in your review, was the target enough of a stretch?

• CRAFT YOUR MESSAGE FOR SHARING WITH THE TEAM: Highlight the accomplishments and provide context for the items that were less than stellar. Keep negative feedback associated with individuals contained in individual follow-up conversations.

• REVIEW EXPECTATIONS FOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Recalibrate and share expectations with the team in ways that will foster collaboration and teamwork to help meet goals within the next six months.

• OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE NECESSARY: Ensure that the team members have what they need to accomplish the goals and targets. Don’t let illegitimate excuses get in the way – only consider legitimate observations for action if you are so inclined.
