Rural Care Summer Scheme
Runs Monday - Friday from 1st of July - 30th August 2013 Daily Tasks & Activities Rural Care at Church Farm is running a summer scheme over the summer holidays. We will be running day sessions from 10am until 12.30pm and 12.30pm -3pm Monday to Friday. Sessions start on Monday1st of July until 30th August. The cost will be £30 per session or £60 for a full day *
A Real Farming Experience
Co -farmers work in small mixed ability groups, in a variety of jobs to suit individual interests, needs and abilities. Its a great way to make friends and have fun. Here are some of the things you might be doing Feeding the animals We feed pigs, piglets, chickens, ducks, chicks and many more animals. Collecting the eggs Everyday our Co-farmers collect all of the eggs from our flock of laying hens, we have 900 hens so there are lots of eggs to collect!
Growing fruit and Vegetables Co-farmers are involved in sowing seeds, raising them, harvesting fruit and vegetables and generally getting involved in all of the growing. We also have our own veg plot where we grow vegetables for tasting :) Rural Crafts We get involved in lots of traditional rural crafts like weaving with the sheeps fleece, flower pressing, making bird houses and bug habitats.
General Farm Tasks There is always lots of maintenance to do keep the farm working well we do lots of painting, fence care and pen building. We also box and sort eggs for the shop and cafe.
