Hopeful LISSETTE LENT SUSES RED GLASSES TO SPREAD A MESSAGE OF LOVE BY BREANNE DEMORE
Lissette Lent was always hopeful her children would grow up to be happy and healthy, but when she was surprised by her fourth pregnancy, the word “hope” gained a whole new definition. “We had three kids and we were done having any more kids,” Lent says. “We just got the shocker that I was pregnant again and we were like ‘Okay! Here we go again! Let’s do this!’” The mother of a 10-year-old, a 6-year-old and an almost 2-year-old knew the process well and started making the appropriate doctor appointments. “At 17 weeks pregnant, we went in for our normal ultrasound to find out where we were and what the baby’s sex was, and I noticed that it had taken a lot longer than typical ultrasounds,” says Lent. “I just knew something was wrong. I remember looking over [to my husband] and saying, ‘Something’s not right.’”
