Peoria Chamber hosts Christmas Tree Contest
The Peoria Chamber of Commerce is hosting the P83 Christmas Tree Decorating Contest beginning Monday December 3rd and culminating on Friday Night December 14th with the selection of the 2018 Decorating winner. The Friday evening event will be held in the parking lot of Arrowhead Harley Davidson and will feature Dickens costumed Carolers, the Merchant Christmas trees on display for judging with Santa & Mrs. Claus in attendance for the family’s enjoyment. Vendor tables are available for anyone interested in show casing their products or services. The Chamber and the participating P83 businesses are sponsoring the event to support 15 families from the Peoria Unified School District this holiday season. Each decorated Christmas tree will be delivered to a family the day after the event by Chamber member College Hunks Moving Company. The Chamber is also collecting toys, clothing and donations to fulfill the wish lists from the 41 children in our 15 families. Harley Davidson, Hooters, Moon Saloon, The Social on 83rd, Chick-Fil-A, Corporate America Family Credit Union, Farmers Insurance, Bubbas 33, Modern Round, Bank 34, The Peoria Diamond Club and Huntington University. Customers visiting any of the participating merchants will be given a Contest Christmas Card and encouraged to visit each of the businesses between December 3rd to December 14th to view each tree and have their card stamped from the merchant. Customers then bring the card to the Harley Davidson parking lot the night of December 14th between 5:30 and 8:30 to vote for their favorite tree. All cards containing a stamp from every participating merchant will be entered in a drawing to win a $200 gift card for holiday shopping. Santa will be cruising the P83 area on his scooter throughout the evening welcoming people to join us and vote for their favorite tree.
