A McDowell Mountain Ranch resident is being called a hero after what started as a fun day at the pool nearly turned tragic. Amanda Mower, a NICU nurse at HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medial Center, received a “Life-Savers” award from the Scottsdale Fire Department for helping save a boy pulled from the McDowell Mountain Ranch community pool on June 1. “Anyone in the profession would have done the same exact thing,” said Mower during the June 26 ceremony.
