Quiet thanks to silent flag man

And the winners are...

You may or may not have seen that on Stockade Hill flies three flags – the New Zealand, Australian and the British flags. From time to time, there is a fourth which is to commemorate another country’s national day.

We’re pleased to announce the lucky winners of the children’s book Molly Monarch by Gavin Gosney. The book winners are Jenny Metford, Jun-Liang Tan and Judy Johnston. Thank you to all those who entered.

This flag flying is due to a devoted person in our community – Andrew Adams. Come rain or shine Andrew rises early in the morning and hoists the flag to whose celebration day it is, and in the

evening is back to bring it down. Andrew is one of the many silent, unassuming, passionate people in our community who we would like to thank. We are extremely grateful for making our

part of the globe a place of reflection, to remember our forefathers who went before us in the World Wars. We are so very thankful we are all here to enjoy the now. We thank you Andrew.
