The Chattahoochee River reached a record 29.84 feet, flooding portions of Coweta in Sept. 2009.The Chattahoochee River in the background is usually 25 feet from the house of Rayburn Gray at the end of Bob Brewster Road.

Construction crews with the city of Newnan work in July 2009 restoring the Carnegie building in downtown Newnan, a project that began in September 2008. Work was completed in August for the grand opening of the new city reading room.
