If your pearls are all identical in appearance – especially if they are perfectly round and have a generic, eggshell texture – you are more than likely looking at a forgery. Pearls are Healthy If your pearls are genuine, you can even rub them together. Real pearls, being gems, will create a very fine powder that does no permanent damage to the surface of the stone.
