Harriet E. Cooperman Ms. Cooperman is the Co-Chair of Saul Ewing LLP's Labor, Employment and Employee Benefits Law Practice Group, where she focuses her practice on representing management in all aspects of labor and employment law and litigation. Ms. Cooperman received her B.S. degree from Cornell University, School of Industrial and Labor Relations, and her law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law. Ms. Cooperman is Interim Chair of the State Higher Education Labor Relations Board of Maryland, and has served as a member and Vice Chair of the Board since its inception in July, 2001, appointed and reappointed by Governors Glendening, Ehrlich, and O’Malley. She has taught labor law and employment discrimination law as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Baltimore School of Law. Ms. Cooperman is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. She has been named as one the Nation's Most Powerful Employment Attorneys-Top 100 by Lawdragon and Human Resources Executive in 2010 and 2011. She has also consistently been named to The Best Lawyers in America list in the areas of Labor and Employment Law and Litigation and as one of "America's Leading Lawyers in Employment Law" by Chambers USA. Ms. Cooperman is a former Chairperson of the Section on Labor and Employment Law of the Maryland State Bar Association, and former Chairperson of the Employer-Employee Relations Committee of the Tort and Insurance Practice Section, American Bar Association.
