“Break The Norm” is a self-published magazine I created as the final project for my Master’s degree.
This publication is a celebration of self-expression and unapologetic individuality. Inspired by Gen Z’s bold approach to fashion, the magazine encourages readers to embrace their unique style and reject societal expectations around how they should look, think, or feel.
The goal of this project was to develop a publication rooted in my personal interests, and “Break The Norm” reflects my passion for fashion that challenges conventions and speaks authentically to who we are.
Issue 001: Break the Norm by the Sea. This issue’s focus on fashion in the elements of sea and water. It aims to mock the norms and provoke thought with an underlying message of staying authentic to oneself and one’s personal style.
Before designing the magazine, I defined the mood and tone. A dark blue to light blue gradient reflects the sea theme while maintaining Gen Z’s bold fashion energy. Typography and imagery were also carefully selected to support the concept.
Here are selected spreads from the magazine I designed. Each article explores a different aspect of fashion inspired by the sea and water — from the historical influence of water in fashion, to luxury brands incorporating aquatic elements, to modern streetwear summer collections popular among Gen Z.

Personal
Broken peeps short for Broken people is a fashion brand created by me and my friend.
Our idea was to play with mental health terms and display it in an aesthetic way. We want people to accept the fact that mental illness is normal and we should accept and express who we are and what we feel.
Because me and my friend are co-founders of the brand we did everything from designing the brand logo to directing a photoshoot to be post on social media.

Before my friend’s DJ debut at a club, I designed the event’s social media posters using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The poster style draws inspiration from underground fanzines, visually reflecting the raw, edgy vibe of our music concept.

This is where my video editing skills and my motion graphic skills are used.
These are the two videos from 200radio youtube channel where I did using Resolume Arena, a motion graphics software that syncs visuals to the music’s beat. I experimented with layering visuals and effects to create dynamic, rhythm-driven content. If you’re interested in watching the full videos, feel free to click the link to view them on YouTube.
