Dr. Stanley Ladelle Anderson SEPTEMBER 26, 1967 - AUGUST 11, 2017

2 Timothy 4:6-8 9 (NIV) 6 For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near.7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

John 14: 1-6 (NIV) Jesus Comforts His Disciples 14 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come backand take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”

Life Reflection Dr. Stanley Ladelle Anderson, 49 years of age, born in Memphis, Tennessee, transitioned to his everlasting life Friday, August 11, 2017 after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma cancer.

Dr. Anderson was an humble man, who devoted his life to serving others as a dedicated OBGYN physician and one of the first Davinci robotic surgeons in the Kansas City region and for HCA Research Medical Hospital in Missouri. As the only Kansas City regional African American male OBGYN physician, he made history, paved the way for others, and his legacy will live on through the thousands of lives he delivered. In 2014, he simultaneously served as the Chairperson for the OBGYN Department at Research Medical Center Hospital, and served patients in two other busy office locations in Missouri including Swope Clinic. Dr. Anderson received his undergraduate and medical school training at Saint Louis University. He served numerous patients in St. Louis at Depaul and St. Mary’s hospitals and completed his residency at St. Luke’s hospital. Dr. Anderson was a national board certified physician, licensed in Virginia, Kansas and Missouri with awards in numerous areas. He was a member of many professional organizations including the American Medical Association, American College of OB/GYN FACOG and the Society of Laparoendoscopic surgeons. Lifting as he climbed, Dr. Anderson was a preceptor instructor of future doctors for Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.

Dr. Anderson was truly a family man who diligently focused his non-career time on his wife, Tiffany, who he met at Saint Louis University and their two children, Whitney and Christopher. Stanley and Tiffany were inseparable as they absolutely adored each other and spent every free moment together. Stanley transitioned to his next life on their 24th wedding anniversary weekend with Tiffany and family members by his side holding his hand as he entered his new life. Stanley had a special bond with both children as he helped to deliver them during his residency. He enjoyed spoiling them. Whitney completed her undergraduate studies in 3 years from St. Louis University in 2016 as a Public Health and PreMed student; and celebrates her September birthdays on the same birthdate as her dad. She is a daddy’s girl lovingly referenced as his “Tweetie” from the cartoon they watched when he cared for her as an infant. Stanley enjoyed playing sports with his son Chris, a Kansas University student. He referred to Chris as his #1 son as he proudly shared Chris’ athletic accomplishments with others. They enjoyed catching a good Cardinals baseball game as one of their favorite activities.

Dr. Anderson is survived by his devoted wife Dr. Tiffany Anderson, his children Whitney Kristine and Christopher Dale Anderson of Overland Park, KS; his mother, Gertrude Anderson; his motherin-law, Edna Montgomery, his father-in-law, Larry (Jackie) Brown of St. Louis, MO; siblings, Calvin (Belinda) Anderson, Carolyn (Jeff) McFadgon, Barbara Mitchell, Edward (Barbara) Anderson and Carl Anderson all of Memphis, TN; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and numerous loving colleagues and friends.

Dr. Anderson accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. He was ushered into his new life with his wife holding his hand giving loving words of comfort and encouragement at 11:30 PM Friday August 11, 2017.

Special thanks to Keisha Davis with Austin Layne who volunteered to coordinate between states for a special home going service. Thank you to Lawrence A and Sons funeral home in Kansas City Missouri who addressed the embalming safe passage of Stan’s precious body from the hospital and to Memphis. We also thank Serenity for the final preparations for Stan and for the beautiful service. A special thanks is extended to our brother and sister in law, Belinda and Calvin Anderson who coordinated details in Memphis for the final rest place for My beloved husband and a devoted father. A special thanks goes to our initial oncologists, Bria Lipe and the KU nursing team who provided world class care. We have been surrounded by people of faith who have blessed us tremendously.
