Greetings Sheila M. Fuentes Omnes Studio
I am applying for the position of summer intern and this document serves as my cover letter. My name is Tiffany Haley Perez. I graduated in May 2022, receiving my Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design with a minor in Architecture and Graphic Design, from the University at Buffalo. My education has given me a strong foundation in designing the built environment. Through my studies, I developed a deep passion for sustainability, conservation, and biological sciences—areas I am eager to explore further through this opportunity.
Over the past year and a half, I have been working in the construction industry, gaining valuable hands-on experience. Currently, I work as an Interior Design Assistant, where I create models and renderings for residential projects, primarily kitchen and bathroom designs, using Design 2020. While I enjoy working in residential design, my creativity and skills are better suited for large-scale planning, and my long-term goal is to become a Landscape Architect.
Beyond my professional experience I have developed a lifelong interest in design, before college I dedicated much of my free time to painting and creating art which led me to develop strong hand-sketching and graphic design skills. During my time at university, I freelanced as a logo designer and worked with computer-aided design, mostly Sketchup, to create layouts and environmental design projects like green space planning. At my current position where I have learned Design 2020, I create models and renderings for residential designs, mostly kitchen and bathroom designs. I enjoy the process of meeting clients and working through obstacles to create designs that they fall in love with. Additionally in my free time, I have been exploring my creativity through drafting miniature architectural models.
I believe my diverse design background, technical skills, and passion for environmental planning make me a strong candidate for this internship. I am eager to contribute my creativity, attention to detail, and enthusiasm to your team. Thank you for your time and consideration—I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how my skills can benefit Omnes.

One of the most memorable projects during my time at UB was a semester-long case study focused on designing a new or expanded greenspace within an existing local site. I chose Highland Park in Rochester, NY—a place rich with potential and personal significance. Having visited the park many times, I was inspired by its landscape and history, making it the perfect setting for exploring innovative design solutions that enhance its natural beauty and functionality.

For this project, I utilized GIS, SketchUp, Adobe Illustrator, and Blender (along with various add-ons) to collect, analyze, and visually present data. These tools allowed me to develop a comprehensive site analysis and create detailed visualizations that effectively communicated my design concepts.

At my current position, I use Design
Live 2020 to create kitchen and bathroom designs, ensuring functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces. For more complex design concepts, I turn to SketchUp, though most of these projects are personal explorations that allow me to refine my skills and experiment with innovative ideas.

In addition to painting and collage making, I create physical 3D architectural models using wood, cardboard, and similar materials to explore and refine simple design concepts. This hands-on approach allows me to experiment with form, scale, and spatial relationships in a tangible way.
