ARMISTICE DAY 2005 The research carried out by John Downie and Hubert Strathairn culminated in a moving Armistice Day Service in memorial Hall at 11 am on 11th November 2005. Rev John Wilson (1957) conducted the service. Head Boy, Patrick Creiran, and Head Girl, Zoe Law, read out the names of Morrisonians who gave their lives in 1st and 2nd World Wars. The Rector, Simon Pengelley, dedicated the names on the panels. The Lord Lieutenant, Sir David Montgomery, relatives of some whose names are on the panels, joined FPs, Governors, staff, sixth

years pupils and members of the CCF. Sadly Hubert Strathairn was unable to attend. School wartime records and memorabilia were on display attracting much interest. Afterwards lunch was served in the Ferntower Hall. John’s book can be viewed in the Archive Room. Copies can be produced for those who would wish to have one. Please contact Tricia Halley at School.
