Brief biography of His Eminent Gazi Rinpoche

I

n 1983, Rinpoche had taken monastic vow (Gelong) at the main temple of Buddhist at Dharamsala, he was named Tenzin Gawa Thupten Lekshi. Since then, he became more immersed in the Buddhist way of life. The accumulation of the Buddhist teachings and using this for the welfare of all became his main objective In 1985, after the witnessing of several auspicious signs, he was recognized as the reincarnation of the Third Gazi Rinpoche. After this recognition, on July 12 of the same year, he was invited to GanjangSerkongKhamtsen, He was enthroned in that Khamtsen under the supervision of the master TanzenTsering and moreover under the special guidance of the great master, His Eminence GingtsenKunga. Thereafter Rinpoche continued the studies of the five Buddhist philosophies. In 1987, Rinpoche successfully competed in 20 kinds of Sangha debates. In 1992, he participated in an Uma debate which went on for five days and four nights. This gave rise to a high respect for the Rinpoche from the Masters as well as the monks from the Monastery. He has also participated in the famous Buddhist Lingsel prayer and debate. He has attended many Buddhist teachings and received several sacred mantras from various eminent masters, namely, His Holiness, His Eminence Dhamalochoe Rinpoche, His Eminence Panglang Rinpoche, and His Eminence GadhenTsenshao Rinpoche. In 1998, he also received many special mantras from His Eminence, Master NyimaGyaltsen Rinpoche. Gazi Rinpoche undertook the Gelu examination, considered to be the highest and the most difficult examination in the academics of Buddhism and which itself stretches to six years. In 2000, he successfully completed all the debates and analyses in the three biggest Monasteries of Tibet, and then obtained the GeshiLharampa doctorate degree. In 2001, he went to Gyumey Monastery where he stayed for one year, after which he got the top doctorate degree of GeshiNyarampa. Thereafter, he was considered to be one of the most learned and widely respected Masters of Tibet. Since 2003, he has been traveling across the World to countries such as Mongolia, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Bhutan, Italy as well as Tibet, in order to spread the goodness of the Buddhist philosophies.

In 2015, on the Dechok prayer occasion of Gyumey Tantric Monastery, Rinpoche successfully completed his Maha Tantric debate in front of thousands of Buddhist masters and monks. In 2016, he was appointed as the First term of discipline master, during his term, he beautifully completed all mandatory Buddhist holy books reciting and other traditional session, which left remarkable memories to the monastery and monks. His compassion and wisdom have attracted a great number of students in various countries. His commitment is towards achieving peace and prosperity for all by enriching people’s spirituality through the time-tested wisdom of Buddhism. Gazi Rinpoche believes that if one can help others, that person has a sacred duty to do so, irrespective of the circumstances or hurdles in the way.

During Rinpoche’s Geshe Lharam’s Graduation Ceremony In Year 2000, Rinpoche successfully completed his study in the five majaor treatises of Buddhism at Gaden Jangtse Monastery in India. Joint Gyumey Tantric monastery In 2001, he went to Gyumey Monastery where he studied for one year, after which he attained the Madhyamaka degree after successfully completing the training of listening and contemplating on Madhyamaka Philosophy.
