Tiara Bella Britania 19 February 1995

C

As a recent architecture graduate with dual bachelor’s degrees from Universitas Indonesia and Curtin University, I went on to explore my ability as designer by becoming a part of a creative team on university’s organization and event, local freelance project, and individual project.

I have always been eager to seek new experiences, and have worn many hats in my time; designer, architect, artworker, and photographer. Having involved in different industries, I am confident with managing multi-disciplinary project and taking on different roles.

On a personal level I consider myself to be hard-working, organized, and a creative problem solver. I take pleasure in bringing out the creativity in people through designs that reflect their ideas and imagination.

L O 01 PERSONAL BRANDING

G For my personal branding, I decided to go

with a minimalistic, professional design and

layout as I feel that style best represents my work. The branding treatment is based on-

Scandinavian and Japanese vision of design; clean and minimal. To bring the minimum

of elements, excludes the unnecessary to

concentrate on the essentials. Creating a timeless design by making a constant research of contrast in the element.

P R O 02 GAYANA

P GAYANA stands for pagelaran Budaya dan

Seni Indonesia (Indonesian Culture and Arts Festival). A place where Indonesian

performers and cultural supporters can gather and celebrate the diversity of the cul-

ture. It is an event held by Persatuan Pelajar Indonesia Australia from Curtin University, Western Australia. The theme that was brought by this event is the Wayang culture, specifically bringing

the story of Rama and Shinta. As GAYANA has a main target audience of students in Perth, a youthful design of Rama and Shinta

O figure is hence approached.

E V 03 KREASI INDONESIA

E N Kreasi is an abbreviation of Kuliner, Etnik,

and Seni. It is an event held by PPIA, AIPSSA and 53 Indonesian Communities in Perth, Western Australia to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Indonesian Independence Day. This event is also aimed to promote the

diversity and richness of indonesian culture and tourism potential.

Red and white, as a representation of Indonesian flag color, are used throughout the

design, including the logo, booklet, post-

er, and flyers. The logo itself is inspired by folding and waving ribbon, which is usually worn by heroes and fighters as a headband,

with icons of activities that are featured in this event.

P 04 AUTUMN HANGOUT

O S Autumn Hangout is an event held by PPIA Curtin University where Indonesian students gather, sing, eat, and mingle whilst

accompanied by local talents, singer, and band, which bringing a whiz of reminis-

cence with Indonesian tunes and today’s greatest tracks.

As the part of PPIA Curtin University’s creative team, one of my responsibility is to

create image posts as part of the contents for the organization’s social media accounts, including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Hence, these image posts were created

as part of the contents of Autumn Hangout event.

A

My illustrations range from hand-sketch to digital drawing - and combination of both. I personally like drawing people or human figures, since most of my illustrations are inspired by my closest relatives; friends and family, and also other people that I found influential. All of my illustrations here are digital illustrations and part of my personal project.

S P 06 THE PSYCHEDELIC CHAMBER

A During my study as an architecture student,

the studio requires the student to design a creative space for an artist, which will be oc-

cupied during his or her creative working process. This creative space should be able to inspire the work of the artist and act like

a motion picture or movie, which give dif-

ferent spatial experience or feeling in each of its area.

Dmaz Brodjonegoro, a painter, an illustrator, and an art director from Jakarta, is

chosen as the creative person in this creative space design. As most of his works are

mainly inspired by the surreality of Michel Gondry, James Jean, Jonsi, and Radiohead, thus, a creative space with no borders and partitions is created to comply with Dmaz’s limitless imagination and inspiration. The Psychedelic Chamber is basically inspired by Dmaz’s works, which are also commonly consisted of chromatic or vivid colors, overlap pictures, and asymmetrical shapes which resemble a dream-like or psychedelic term.

R E 07 TESSELLATION

A Can architecture provide connections between the vibrancy (real and imagined) of

books and places to read them? This time, the studio requires the student to design

and construct a portable open-air reading room, to share books, showcase the act of learning, and improve public space.

Tessellation, therefore, is created as a result of tectonic design concept with an emphasis

on material, detail and assembly, which create a synergy between urban and suburban

configuration. The tiling and repeating patterns of the design, which tessellates one an-

other, creates a vibrant connection between the materiality, the space, the function, and the user.

It is a tectonic reading room that is based on different reading positions. Users can sit on the chair with a table, lay down on the bench, and sit on the bench. It is also accessible from all sides and overlooking different campus view. The facade is very versatile that it can be also used as bookcase.

A R 08 OTHER WORKS

C A snippet from other architectural works and projects during my study in Universi-

tas Indonesia and Curtin University. These

projects include an exploration of Frank Gehry’s Winton Guest House, an art hub located in Lake Leschenaultia National Park, and a mixed-use housing located in North Subiaco, Western Australia.

page 31 Using a case study of Frank Gehry’s Winton Guest House, I explored Rhinoceros 3-dimensional software modelling environment and two-­dimensional drafting using Adobe Illustrator to produce high quality drawings and renders.

page 32 Inspired by the works of Frei Otto, the Lake Leschenaultia Art Hub takes inspiration from an obsessive study of natural forms as its main concept, It creates a harmonious relationship between people and nature by integrating two approaches: biophilic and biomimicry approaches.

page 34 The project aims to provide the residents and visitors a spatial experience in healthy environment that is achieved by integrating greeneries into the building’s design and establishing a strong relationship between the architecture and surrounding nature, which is done by ways, such as using glass to eradicate boundaries between the interior and natural site.
