TEEN LEADERSHIP CLUB, Age 15-17 High school age volunteer program giving students experience in the field of recreation. Volunteers work at the Teen Center, ConejoRPD and community special events.

COMMUNICATION AND PERSONAL MANAGEMENT SKILLS, Age 12-17 Learn to deal with stress, anger, fear, and worry, skills that are instrumental in relationships with parents, teachers, and coaches. Facilitated by Elizabeth Sorensen and Pete Martinez, Youth Outreach Workers. Enrollment: Max 15

Our programs include a variety of recreational classes, educational workshops, seasonal camps, leagues, trips, dances, concerts, and great special events, as well as FREE drop-in recreation. Check out our facility’s awesome features: gymnasium, soundproof music room, a 1,700 sq. ft. game room complete with pool and ping pong tables, black light air hockey, foosball, free arcade games, vending machines, and multiple high-def big screen TV’s with all the latest gaming systems. A computer lab with high speed internet is open and staffed during designated hours. We also have classrooms, a catering kitchen, and a social lobby with couches and a 65” TV. Feel free to stop by and visit our facility, meet the staff, and check out our program offerings!

YOUTH OUTREACH This multipurpose community social service program is jointly sponsored by the Conejo Recreation and Park District and the Conejo Valley Unified School District. By design, outreach workers seek out and address the needs of non-involved and hard-to-reach youths. Wednesday, January 16 • 6:30-8:45pm Free Workshop held during National Teen Safe Driving Week at the Thousand Oaks Teen Center This free pre-permit workshop for parents and teens provides information that teens need to know before taking the wheel. Geared toward pre-permit drivers (14-15 years of age), the interactive program walks attendees through steps necessary to obtain a permit and driver’s license and offers useful tools, tips, and resources to help parents and teens during the learning-to-drive process and beyond.
