Thompson Thrift Completes Largest Equity Capital Raise for 2023 Multifamily Development Limited Partnership
Thompson Thrift completed its largest equity capital raise in company history, with more than $390 million in limited partner equity commitments for the Thompson Thrift 2023 Multifamily Development, LP (2023 LP). 335 investment partners made commitments to the 2023 LP, with the majority having previously invested with Thompson Thrift.
“We are grateful to our equity partners and appreciate their confidence in us. This successful fundraise reflects our excellent reputation, the dedication of our team members, and our history of delivering outstanding results,” said Carrie LaFay, Vice President of Capital Markets.
The 2023 LP equity will fund the majority of Thompson Thrift Residential’s development project pipeline in 2023 and the first half of 2024, positioning the company to meet its goals for project starts. Having committed equity to fund and start projects in 2023 and 2024 is a unique advantage for Thompson Thrift. Most institutional equity has paused on making investments, reducing many developers’ ability to fund and start projects.
“We are incredibly pleased with the capital raise this year. It gives us the ability to wisely invest in terrific opportunities when many of our peers are on the sidelines, frozen by their institutional partners,” said Josh Purvis, Managing Partner of Thompson Thrift Residential. “We are being more selective and finding attractive markets and projects.”
