GRAD 2020 SPECIAL EDITION JULY 2020

Jasraj Kullar Valedictorian Thank you to the 2 of my many wives for calling me up on stage, I couldn’t have all of my twenty wives on stage due to Rona but it’s all G... I want to start off, first and foremost, saying it is my pleasure as being valedictorian of our class. Thank you to everyone that supported me through this. A big shout-out goes to these guys; Taylor, Mckenna, Kiara, Avery, Alex, and lastly my boi Chris. They took time out of their busy lives to help me, which is hard for most people to do and I am very thankful for that, so thank you to those guys. This year every one of us expected it to be the best year of their lives because we were supposed to be graduating and of course we were the first class of the decade to be graduating, but of course, something bad had to happen like Rona season. It screwed everything up, like our prom, graduation right now, and of course our last 3 months of school which were supposed to be the most exciting and memorable of all But we all stayed home and did absolutely nothing because of quarantine but other than that, I think everyone made it out alive. In all honesty, these past four years have flown by, when we all enrolled in high school for the first time and not all of us knew each other. But as the years went on and we started talking to each other, that could’ve been in classes or at sports try-outs, we all started to

know one another and how we were as a person. It’s funny how we all grew up together seeing each other get our first boyfriends and girlfriends, probably in grade 8 or so, yet some of us are still dating grade 8s. I’m just saying don’t get caught cause you all are 18 now and you should grow up. If I’m honest, I think each and every one of you will succeed in life in some way and will be happy in your lives. Most of us will never see each other again and will lose contact and just kinda fade away but that’s alright cause you didn’t need them anyway. It’s crazy to think that we’re actually graduating and will not see each other anymore in the hallways or classrooms. But again, that’s alright because friends will always come and go. But the memories we had with each other will forever last in our hearts. So this summer get wild do whatever you want, cause it’s probably gonna be the frickin’ last time we’re all going to be together as a class and having fun. This year has also been a tremendous display of resiliency throughout many minority groups across the world, including; groups such as the black, Indigenous, and the LGBTQ community, and many other minority groups. I’ll give you one inspiring story that is very close to my heart. It’s about my long-time friend, Pawandeep Singh, who recently came out as gay and faced a lot of

backlash because of this. In spite of all the backlash, he never gave up. He raised his voice and stood for what he believed in. That right there is a true display of resiliency and I am extremely proud of him. To finish everything off I want to thank all the teachers who taught us through these 4 years and that put up with all our bullshit and stupidity in our classes. Ultimately, I just want to say, Jeff, Karl, Dereck, Eric, and Micheal it has been a great 4 years with you guys. Thank you.
