March 19 OakFest The signature St. Patrick’s Day Event in Thomasville, this annual music festival benefits The Treehouse Children’s Advocacy Center of Thomas County and is presented by presented by Whitehurst, Blackburn & Warren. A day of family-friendly music, food, and fun. Local food trucks and adult beverages will be available. Tickets start at $25; kids 12 and under free. Science, history, and creativity collide for a unique celebration of spring’s arrival. The event will also include crafts and activities based on the science of the equinox. To view nature’s trick of light and shadow, please visit 3:30-5:30pm. The peak viewing hour for the “Equinox Effect” is 4pm-5pm. Free; The LaphamPatterson House, 626 N. Dawson St.

MARCH Through March 25 Covey Film Festival Covey Film Festival is the signature fund-raising event for the Thomasville Community Resource Center (TCRC), which serves underserved children and families in four counties: Brooks, Grady, Thomas, and Mitchell. The event promotes independent films and filmmakers to the Red Hills Region of Southwest Georgia and North Florida. Screenings of films that relate to nature, community and caring—all representative of the great conservation efforts of the region—are shown through March 25. See coveyfilmfestival.org for details.
