It feels amazing to receive second place in a competition with other very talented individuals. The hard work and sleepless nights running my business are starting to pay off. Thomas College has been a great resource for my company’s growth.

COLE ELLIS ’26

GREENLIGHT MAINE WINNER

Thomas College student and Maine native, Cole Ellis, won second place in Season 9 of Greenlight Maine’s College Edition business competition show in 2024. He pitched his business, Keep it Clean Heat Pumps, a service and cleaning company out of Searsport, ME.

Whoever graduates today, AI will be a major part of their job. Our graduates need to know how to use the technology and have an advantage over others when using the tool. My hope is that they’ll be more prepared than graduates from other schools.

DONALD CRAGEN, D.S.M.

CHELSEY COTE ’25

Over three days, she engaged in learning, networking, and collaborating with teachers from across the country.

DR. HEATHER BATCHELOR

Thomas was the perfect fit for me, close to home and a small community school. I started in the fall of 2018 and immediately felt at home, I was a commuter all four years, but I never felt like an outsider. The most important part of the last four years hasn’t been something I’ve done at Thomas, but something I’ve been able to do because of Thomas.

LUKE WITHAM ’22

LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

I’m passionate about helping aspiring teachers gain the hands-on experience they need both in the field and the classroom. At Thomas, we work hard to ensure students not only enter classrooms early but also develop the skills and mindset to bring meaningful, practical ideas into their own future classrooms.

SCHOOL OF ARTS & SCIENCES

The School of Arts and Sciences offers over 30 diverse majors, including cutting-edge fields like Cybersecurity and Environmental Science, supported by brand new, state-of-the-art labs.

At Thomas College, 80% of students complete an internship, contributing to our 99% job placement rate after graduation.

INNOVATION IN ACTION

DEVELOPING THINKERS, COMMUNICATORS, AND LEADERS WHO MAKE A MEANINGFUL IMPACT

The School of Arts & Sciences helps students think critically, communicate clearly, and act ethically. With a strong foundation in the humanities, sciences, and social sciences, students gain both realworld skills and deep expertise in their field. Graduates leave prepared to succeed professionally and make meaningful contributions to their communities.

My time at Thomas College played a big role in preparing me for an internship. The hands-on learning approach in my computer science courses helped me build a strong foundation in technical skills, problemsolving, and real-world applications.

CALOTICA OPPONG ’26

Because of the practical lab skills that we teach our students, they are able to move into any field of science they choose and make an impact in the scientific community. Last semester we had students intern in labs for water quality testing, soil, and genetic sequencing.

After earning my degree from Thomas College, I went on to complete a rigorous pre-med program at Johns Hopkins and now work serving lowincome communities while preparing for medical school. The support I received at Thomas—from professors, teammates, and friends—was unmatched. While Thomas is a small college, the professors I had there were more supportive, empathetic, and talented than many I encountered at Johns Hopkins. The Thomas community should be incredibly proud of the exceptional educators it has.
