La tribu Palawa, original de Tasmania –Australia–, fue objeto de una investigación con la intención de tratar de datar el origen de sus historias tradicionales, transmitidas oralmente entre sus integrantes. El resultado reveló que las narraciones de la tribu surgían 12.000 años atrás, incluyendo eventos climatológicos y cósmicos que forman parte de su cultura y forma de entender el mundo, y que convierten estos relatos en las historias registradas de manera oral más antiguas del mundo. The Palawa tribe, native to Tasmania –Australia–, underwent research with the aim of dating the origin of their traditional stories, transmitted orally among their members. The result revealed that the tribe’s narratives emerged 12,000 years ago, encompassing climatological and cosmic events that are integral to their culture and worldview, making these orally recorded stories the oldest in the world. (1) The philosophy of this tribe is based on the ultimate purpose of human beings, which is to record and transmit stories about what happened, simply because we are the only animal capable of remembering and expressing it.
