Where the wild parties at!

The multi-venue metropolitan festival will return to Sheffield City Centre for its second year from 3rd to 4th March 2017, showcasing a blend of established artists and up-and-coming acts. The event is programmed and promoted by some of the team behind the city's much-loved Tramlines Festival, and was created with the aim of serving as a little sister to Tramlines during the colder months.

Hot off the press! Tramlines have announced their first wave of acts for this years inner city festival. Indie icons The Libertines announced as one of the main headliners alongside a musical feast of artists including Metronomy, All Saints, Toots & The Maytals, The Coral, Loyle Carner, Akala, We Are Scientists, The Phaycyde, Omar Souleyman and heck of a lot more. Hot Cakes 2.0 After one of the best hailed underground events of last season. The mighty Hot Cakes Vs Jungle Cakes returns for round 2! This time round the international Bass Music and Jungle Labels are bringing things inner city to one of the most renowned clubs in Sheffield. Plug!

The Lineup has left last season's event of mouth watering talent in the dust... welcoming the one and only GENERAL LEVY to the battle! Expect a full on tear out session with what could be March’s biggest lineup!

Steel City Rave On Sat 18th Feb, two of Sheffield's best loved community festivals have got together with the cream of the underground Sheffield dance crews to create. ‘The Steel City Rave’, promoting peace, love and unity in Sheffield and raising funds for Peace In The Park and Sharrow Festivals, taking over the magnificent Trafalgar Warehouse with a feast of bass heavy music including jungle, grime, drum and bass and bassline, using the quaking 20Hz Sound System. It's all out raving for a great cause in the Steel City, with radio station UK Mondo hosting and bringing in many of their top DJs and vocalists, supported

by OffMeNut, the Junglist Alliance and loads more of Sheffield’s finest.

Jungle Jam Returns The mighty Leeds based Jungle Jam return on 4th March to Sheffield’s O2 Academy, Boasting a mental lineup consisting of but not limited to, DJ Hype, Randall and Marcus Visionary. A special treat for any Jungle and DnB fan.

After the success of 2016's debut event, the festival's organisers have extended the event, which will now take place across two days. Heading up the bill are Australian psychedelic rock outfit Jagwar Ma, whose newly released second album Every Now & Then has been earning critical acclaim. Jagwar Ma will share the stage at the iconic venue The Leadmill – now in its 35th year at the forefront of the UK's live music scene – with a host of Sheffield talent.

Additional Sheffield talent comes from indie-pop quartet The Crookes, who return to the city following an extensive US tour in support of their latest, Fierce Panda-released single 'Roman Candle'.

Meanwhile, at the festival's largest venue, Plug, legendary 2-tone pioneers The Selecter return to Sheffield with an arsenal of hits including 'On My Radio' and 'Three Minute Hero'.

Fans of electronic music, who last year enjoyed the legendary likes of Roots Manuva on the bill, will also find much to enjoy on the lineup, with emerging grime artist Lady Leshurr just one of the hotly-tipped new acts on the bill.

The festival's programmer, Kate Hewett, says: “We've expanded Outlines for its second year to allow us to showcase an even broader range of artists and to give more of a platform to breaking talent from across a range of genres. With the likes of Loyle Carner, Shura and Spring King having featured on 2016's bill, we're confident that there will be some new names to suit all tastes on 2017's lineup.”

Whereas in 2016, Outlines took place throughout a single day, 2017's event will be happening across several key venues from 3rd - 4th March. The festival is set to feature a genre-hopping bill of up to 150 artists.

RiteTrax is about providing a platform for underground culture, across the board.

We've brought the ethos of social enterprise to the promotion of artistic events, with the eventual aim of providing training opportunities to young people and delivering workshops to the wider community. We were funded by a successful crowdfunding effort and have essentially been driven forward by the same sense of collaboration that keeps the DIY and freeparty scenes bubbling away. It's a real collective effort.

We are a community interest company, which means that profits are reinvested for social aims. We’re a platform for all kinds of underground creative culture, which means you get to experience a variety of art forms at any one event. The events usually involve a combination of spoken word poetry, live acoustic music or bands, live electronic acts, live projected visuals, live art & DJs. Big decor and big sound! We hold events at least once a month across a variety of venues.

We've done nights at Yellow Arch, Golden Harvest, Forum, The Harley, Trafalgar Warehouse and Fear X Loathing to name a few.

We try to tie all of the separate strands of underground culture together in a way that makes going out more interesting and more focused on artistic expression. We also run more specific themed events like our collaboration with DEADidea, the Wub Club, which is an underground bass music night. This month we're starting a new weekly night called The Hidden Junction which is geared towards giving new DJs and electronic artists the chance to play out to a crowd.

Taking a chance and being inclusive - it’s a simple concept - but it's enabled us to do so many fun and interesting things like have a street magician entertaining the crowd at one of our showcase events, hiring an overly-excessive amount of sound out for our birthday party and hosting our own festival on the Bole Hills.

We’re a lot more open in terms of how accessible we are to artists who want to get involved. We see ourselves as a grassroots effort and it really does feel like that. There is a growing RiteTrax family which consists of creatives of all ages and from differing backgrounds. The age range for our crew is something like 20 to 62 so

we have a really broad range of influences coming together. We provide opportunities for people who are looking to get experience in the scene as well, whether that’s performing, engineering or anything else.

We're also full of variety. We try to represent a real cross section of different underground creativity. Everything from spoken word poetry and acoustic music to rinseout jungle & DnB. You can expect a mash up of artistic formats, styles, genres and whatever else you weren't expecting. Entry prices are usually less than a fiver too.

Take our 1st birthday event back in October for an example. We hosted a one-room warehouse event with three live electronic sets spanning ambient techno, drum n bass, jungle, house, techno and everything in between. It was a pleasure to put local favourites like Isis Moray, Dr Cryptic, Phatworld and DJ Pipes on the same line-up as guests like Mistabishi and A Guy Called Gerald. That's just the music lineup - there was also spoken word, art exhibits, live art and projections. You'll struggle to find other events that brings together different generations of artists across all of these formats on one bill.

Aside from that, we are a community business and the whole project resonates 'resoundingly good vibes' (according to one reviewer), so it's quite unlike many other independent events in the city.

Sheffield has some really great promoters present here doing their own thing and representing different parts of the scene and some of them do it really, really well.

We’re just experimenting with the format and drawing on a wide range of influence as possible so it makes for some pretty different and exciting events. Get ya sens down!!
