Nigeria, covered 36 states and the federal capital city of Abuja. It analysed business regulations in four areas namely, Starting a Business,

Dealing with Construction Permits, Registering Property, and Enforcing Contracts. It said, “In the past four years since the last report was issued, 29 Nigerian states

have implemented 43 reforms. The majority of those reforms are in the area of Starting a Business - 28 states enacted changes to improve business incorporation.

trillion in 2019. The move to cut the 2019 budget from N9.12 trillion in 2018 to N8.65 trillion, the government explained, is predicated on the need to ensure prudence, reduce

deficit and borrowing while laying greater emphasis on revenue drive. The Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udo Udoma, who gave these indications in Abuja yesterday

at a public consultation on the 2019 – 2021 Medium Term Fiscal Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP), said, "We want to reduce borrowing and deficit in terms of the budget size."

But he noted that in spite of a reduced budget in 2019, the administration was unwavering in providing for human capital development, education, health, and pension/ gratuities.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday made good its resolve not to extend the deadline for the submission of political parties’ lists of candidates for the presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled for the first quarter of next year as it ended the exercise last night. The International Conference Center (ICC), Abuja, which the electoral body used as the collection centre was full of activities as political parties’ officials made frantic efforts to beat the deadline. press time that 84 parties had submitted their lists. For the All Progressives Congress (APC) that was plagued by large scale disputes following its primaries, it was judgement day for the protesters as the party decided on whom to allot its tickets.
