hird Street Music School Settlement has been changing lives and its community for more than 120 years by providing access to world-class music instruction, regardless of the financial resources or ability of its students.
Each year, Third Street serves more than 5,000 students of all ages and backgrounds,
with an annual audience of 25,000 at more than 250 concerts and performances presented at Third Street, partnering schools and other venues throughout New York City.

Here’s what your investment helps Third Street to accomplish: n More than $500,000 in need-based financial aid to as many as 700 students enrolled in Third Street’s music-centered preschool, music and dance programs for children and teens, as well as music programs for older adults. n Weekly instruction in music and dance throughout the school year to more than 2,500 students in city schools serving low-income populations. n Low-cost enrichment programs— choruses, orchestras, bands, chamber ensembles, dance troupes, jazz groups, rock bands, music theory & composition and more—that enable more than 450 of Third Street’s most committed students to achieve artistic excellence.
n Third Street employs more than 100 local artists, many of whom pursue performance careers. n More than 250 free-to-the-public performances are presented by students, faculty and renowned guest artists each year, both at Third Street and other venues in the community and around New York City.
