MUSIC

6699 is the typographical shape of quotation marks: “ and ”. This hand-made zine is a collection gathered by students in the English Speaking class at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The theme “Favourite song, singer, or music” was chosen by popular vote in November, 2020. The vote was held online in Microsoft Teams because the university was closed due to the COVID-19 (Corona Virus) pandemic. It was suggested by many different students, and received a total of 31 votes.

Music fills the gaps of silence we have in our lives. Sometimes the sounds and instruments pull at our heartstrings, or sometimes we find the words sung stirring. Rather than letting the algorithms of modern life suggest songs for us, it’s more meaningful if we suggest good music for each other to listen to.

Favorite Music I like Mr. Children. Mr. Children is one of the most famous bands in Japan. I like their music very much. There are three reasons why I like their music.

The first reason is the nice lyrics. The lyrics of their songs touch the hearts of many people. I am also fascinated by the lyrics.

The second reason is their memorable songs. Each song has its own expression. Listerners are drawn into their songs and enjoy the world view of each song.

And the last reason I like them is because they were recommended by my high school teacher, who liked them. In our last homeroom class, our teacher introduced a song to us; Mr. Children’s “Owarinakitabi”. I was energized when I heard the song. The powerful words encouraged me. So I started liking Mr. Children more.

My favorite song is “Owarinakitabi”. I want many people to know the charm of this song. And, there are many other fascinating songs. Mr. Children is loved by a wide range of generations.

I’m a second-year student studying Pharmaceutical Sciences at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

I’m interested in organic chemistry, pharmacology, and pharmacotherapeutics. I also like soccer, reading, and movies.

LiSA I often listen to music every day. I listen to music on Spotify. I have four liked songs. I haven’t been to a live concert before. My favorite singer is LiSA. Her singing voice is very fascinating. My favorite song is Shirushi by LiSA. This is used in animation. Shirushi fits the mood of this anime very well, so I like it.

The world of BTS Do you know BTS? BTS are very cool and they also dance well. They’re a talented group with a reputation for intense dance performances. The members themselves produce songs and choreograph the boy-band idol group “BIGBANG” as a role model, and they also actively participate in album production, such as writing lyrics and devising choreography. In particular, the rappers SUGA, J-HOPE, and RM wrote most of their own rap parts.

It is also a popular group that makes good use of social media, actively communicating with fans on Weverse, and frequently broadcasting live and variety shows on V LIVE. On YouTube, there are a wide variety of contents such as dance practice videos, behindthe-scenes of various music programs and jacket shooting, as well as roundtable discussions and meals with a radio taste.

Amano, Yuuto Hi! My name is Yuto Amano.

I’m a second-year student studying Pharmacy at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences. I’m interested in soccer, badminton, music, and food. I also like sweets.

Lauv: Paris in the Rain I feel like listening to this song on rainy days. All of his songs are great! Also you can watch how he made songs on YouTube. They are fascinating so I’m glad if you watch them.

24kGolden: Mood ft. iann dior This song got No.1 on Billboard Hot 100 many times. There is a remix version ft. Justin Bieber, J Balvin and iann dior so I want you to listen to both.

Khalid: Talk This song really puts me in a relaxed mood when I’m tired.

MAX: Acid Dreams I like the rhythm and tempo of this song, so I can’t get tired of it even if I listen to it many times.

Ando, Yuri Hi! My name is Yuri. I’m a second-year student studying pharmaceutical sciences at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

I’m interested in chemistry, natural medicine, and biology.

I also like listening to music, watching TV, and traveling.

My recommended song I love bands. Among them, I will introduce my recommended band.

The name of the band is go! go! vanillas. There are 4 men only in the band, and their live performance are very exciting. At live performances, we jump and sing together. I’ve been to their live once and it was really fun. There are many songs I want to recommend, but this time I will introduce a song called “Amazing race”. This song makes me feel positive whenever I listen to it. This song was released this year and I listened to it the most during the period of selfrestraint due to corona. There is a music video on YouTube, so please listen to it when you are feeling down.

Ashida, Mio My name is Mio Ashida. I’m from Osaka and still live in there. I’m a second-year student at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

I am studying there to become a pharmacist. Also, I like listening to music and watching movies. I listen to music while commuting to school and watch movies on my days off.

My favorite song!

I love listening to music. When I am sad, or I must do hard work, I listen to various music. I often use Apple music to listen. By the way, my favorite song is “silent” by SEKAII NO OWARI. They are a poplar band in Japan, and have had success overseas under a different name, “End of The World”. The reason why I like their songs is that the lyrics move me, and the melody makes me relax and calm down. Also I have been to their live concerts a few times.

I had a very good time, so I recommend you listen to a few of their famous songs.

Great musicians that changed my life I especially love foreign music.

However, I never liked music when I was a child. The reason why I fell in love with music was the influence of musicians. So, I’d like to use my page to introduce to you some of them.

Chuck Berry Chuck Berry is an American singersongwriter and guitarist who inspired me to start playing the guitar. He is one of the founders of Rock ’n’ Roll, and had a great influence on many musicians. I think his song have great phrases and lyrics. But the biggest reason I respect him are his live performances. He moves a lot while playing the guitar, but it looks really cool and fun. I was told that his music is fun not only to listen to but also to watch. If you are interested in his music, I recommend watching the performance video first.

Carpenters The Carpenters are an American brother and sister pop music duo. The group made me like foreign songs.

Their songs are so beautiful and soothing to my heart. In addition, the singing voice is very easy to listen to, so I learned English. Their songs are very popular in Japan, and you may have heard them somewhere.

Fukunaga, Kousuke Hi! My name is Kosuke Fukunaga. I’m a secondyear student studying Pharmaceutical Sciences at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

I’m interested in Chemistry, Microbiology, and Herbal medicine. I also like playing guitar, jogging, and making sweets.

Most favorite singer I love music. I’m always looking for new songs. When I was in junior high school student, I found Selena Gomez’s music video on YouTube. From there I became a big fan of her. I went to her concert in Tokyo about five years ago and had very good time. I would like to introduce her.

Selena Gomes is a wonderful person She is so pretty and beautiful. Not only her appearance; she is beautiful inside and out. She has been involved in various activities as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador. She suffers from lupus and also donates to children suffering from the same illness. I respect her. Musically, I like her voice; she has a deep, emotional singing voice. And because I like Latin pop, I like her music where I can feel her roots in Latin. There are many other reasons, but I can’t write them all: I’m just a big fan.

Haba, Honoka

Recommended album Revival: I feel this album was a starting point for Selena as an artist, not a former Disney star. She was more expressive of herself than her previous album. Her deep and delicate voice matches the songs.

Hi! My name is Honoka Haba. I’m a first year student studying at the University of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

I’m interested in eating, budo, and music. I also like shopping.

Rare: This album was released five years after Revival. It’s a work filled with her thoughts; she overcame romance and illness in that period.

My favorite singer I’ll introduce you to my favorite singer, “Yonezu Kenshi”. He is a very popular singer. A lot of people love him and his works. He started making music under the name “Hachi” on YouTube in 2009. To date, he has released many masterpieces and set many great records. Among the many wonderful works, I will introduce two favorite songs.

The first song is “TEENAGE RIOT”.

This song was used as a commercial song for GATSBY. And, this is in the Flamingo mini CD. He produced this song while remembering his teenage years. It is a cool song in which the conflict in his heart is expressed in passionate music.

The second song is “PEACE SIGN”.

This song was used as the theme song of an anime. So, the anime character is depicted on the cover of the CD. In response to the interview, he replied, “The times and society will change, but I wanted it to be a song that resonates with today’s children.” When you hear this song, you can inspire yourself by saying, “Let’s do our best again.”

Hase, Moeka Hi! My name is Moeka Hase.

I’m a second-year student studying Pharmaceutical Sciences at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

I’m interested in crude drugs, biology, and chemistry. I also like traveling, driving, and listening to music.

Three My Favorite Songs I listen to music almost every day. I listen to music on Amazon music and YouTube. I often hear it when I want to improve my mood. I’d like to use my page to introduce to you my favorite songs.

Call Me Maybe This is a song by Carly Rae Jepsen. It was released in 2012. It’s a song that makes you hum when you listen to it.

It’s a bright song that you can listen to and be positive. bad guy Bad guy is song by Billie Eilish. This song was released in 2019. This song was also the theme song of a TV drama. The tune is characteristic and once you hear it, it will remain in your ears. I like this song because it has a unique atmosphere like no other.

Shake It Off This is a song by Taylor Swift. This song was released in 2014. It’s an uptempo song, and just listening to it will make you feel better. It’s a song I want you to listen to when you’re depressed.

Hatanaka, Saeko Hi! My name is Saeko Hatanaka. I’m a secondyear studest studying Pharmaceutical Sciences at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

I’m interested in chemistry, pharmacology, and biology. I also like watching YouTube, listening to music, and sleeping. I graduated from Kobe Kaisei Girls’ School.

When I was in high school, I was raising money for guide dogs. I can play the piano. I have a driving license. I would like to work part-time to improve my communication skills.

Back Number I don’t usually listen to music much.

That’s because great music apps like Apple Music and Spotify are paid.

When I study, I sometimes listen to music on YouTube. But it is often the sound of waves or fire, not someone’s song. So I have never been to a concert.

I used to listen to Back Number songs a lot. All their songs have nice lyrics. I especially like the lyrics of Christmas songs. The lyrics of their songs are very moving. I can’t do it now, but if I get the chance, I want to go to their concert.

My Favorite Music I really like listening to music. I listen to music for about an hour every day.

There are many songs I like, but most of them are from the 1990s. I listen to music in every situation, such as when I’m studying or cooking, so I would like to introduce one of my favorite songs.

The song is a song called HANABI sung by Mr. Children. This song was made for a drama called Code Blue and has been used in many works as the theme song, and it is a very good song that matches the content of the drama.

Mr. Children’s songs have many hidden meanings. HANABI also has a deeper meaning. Some may wonder why it is written in romaji.

This is the alphabetical notation has two meanings. One is the English translation, “fireworks”, that are for congratulating patients on leaving the hospital. Another meaning is “day away” indicating that the patient has died and you can no longer meet them.

I still can’t forget the goosebumps I got when I learned this.

So, I want everyone to listen to this song, which has various meanings like this.

Higuchi, Ryoma Hi! my name is Ryoma Higuchi. I’m a second-year student studying pharmacy at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

I’m interested in the immune system, medical effects, and actions. I also like exercising, reading some comics, and watching YouTube. I was a very good baseball player. when I was second and thirdyear student in high school, I received a recommendation from three Universities as a baseball player.

My Hair is Bad “My Hair is Bad” is a three-piece Japanese rock band. Their most attractive point is their humane lyrics.

I can empathize with a lot of lyrics in their songs. Also, the unique singing style of the vocalist is one of their attractions. He sings like he is talking.

Here are two songs I recommend.

1) Kiss and Friend This is a song about the feelings of a man who is crazy about his girlfriend.

I like the lyrics of “I dance on her palm, but she dosen’t make me dance”, because I think it’s a good expression of what love makes him blind. He knows he is convenient for her, but he can’t leave her.

2) I got a new girlfriend This is a song about a man’s feelings for his ex-girlfriend. I like the lyrics of “’koi’ has faded, but ‘ai’ still remains”.

‘Koi’ has a similar meaning to eros, and ‘ai’ has a similar meaning to agape.

He has a special feeling for his exgirlfriend, but he doesn’t want patch things up with her. Once you hear their songs, you will surely be addicted.

Hirai, Mia Hi! My name is Mia Hirai.

I’m a second-year student studying pharmacy at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences. I’m interested in Chinese medicine, microbiology, and chemistry.

I also like birds, Okonomiyaki, and cosmetics.

My favorite song is Ainokatati. This song is sung by Misia. Misia is one of the Japan’s leading singers. It was the theme song of the drama Stepmom and Daughter Blues. It made my heart warm when I listened to it on TV. And it was very popular with everyone; it was sung in the Red and White singing Contest and Record Award.

Misia’s singing voice is powerful and very wonderful, which is why I love it.

And my favorite singer is Miwa. I often listen to her songs, and sing them in karaoke. And I have been to miwa’s concerts twice. Her singing voice is very beautiful and powerful, which is why I love her songs.

Iiduka, Natsuki Hi! My name is Natsuki Iiduka.

I’m a second-year student studying pharmacentical sciences at Osaka University at of Pharmaceutical Sciences. I’m interested in organic chemistry, biochemistry, and drug therapy. I also like playing the piano, sleeping, and listening to music.

Three of my favorite songs Songs are my emotional support.

I think that many people had a lot of trouble this year because of COVID-19. I will introduce three songs that will make you feel better.

1) Arashi: Turning Up Arashi are a group of five idols representing Japan. This song was released after they decided to suspend activities in 2020. I like the lyrics that it conveys the feelings of the five members who are going on a new journey. Their singing voice and smile illuminate my feeling brightly and make me feel positive.

2) Ieiri Reo: Shine Ieiri is a singer-songwriter. She was seventeen years old when she sang this song! Her singing voice is powerful and reverberate in my heart. I often listened to it when I I’m studying for exams. The song told me that we are always anxious and fearful, but if we start walking with the power we have now, we will be able to shine in the future. I’ve been encouraged by the song.

Isshiki, Nana Hi! My name is Nana isshiki. I’m a secondyear student studying pharmaceutical sciences at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences. I’m interested in pharmacognosy, pharmacology, and functional morphology. I also like reading a lot of comics, watching movies, and eating sweets.

3) Pharrell Williams: Happy This song became the theme song of the movie Despicable Me2. I love the minions in this movie. When I hear it, I can imagine them and it makes me very happy. I’m very excited if this song is played on Universal Studios Japan, located in Osaka.

Favorite singer My favorite band is WANIMA. WANIMA is a trio band made up of people from Kumamoto, and they usually speak or sing in their local dialect, so it’s very thick. I like their songs because a lot of them are up-tempo and enjoyable.

One of their charms is that the lyrics of their songs contain various messages such as challenges, dreams, and never give up. For example, “Yattemiyou” is a song about the spirit of trying new things, and it helped pushed me from behind when I wanted to try new things myself. The lyrics of other songs like “Let’s try to move forward even if it’s incomplete” and “Let’s move forward even if we’re worried” gave me a lot of energy.

Ito, Tadashi Hi! My name is Tadashi Ito. I’m a second-year student studying Pharmaceutical Sciences at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

I’m interested in Organic chemistry, Physicochemistry, and Sanitary pharmacy. I also like eating around, reading comic books, and watching movies.

Kagatsume, Tatsuki Hi! My name is Tatsuki Kagatsume. I’m a secondyear student studying pharmacy at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences. I’m interested in crude drugs, pharmacology, and pharmacotherapy. I also like watching TV, games, and manga.

Great Artist I love music. Music is a driving force in my life. I almost always listen to music when I’m alone—for example, when I’m doing housework or when I get on a train, etc. I used to listen to music with a walkman when I was a child, but recently I listen to music by using my smartphone’s apps, including Apple Music and Spotify. I listen to various music for a feeling at that time, but I want to introduce my favorite artist, GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE. GENERATIONS is the vocal and dance group of seven people who belong to LDH. They released many songs after making their debut in 2012, gave performances all over the world and gave a lot of people love, dreams and hopes. I’m one of those people, too. I have too many favorite songs to choose from, even if asked what my favorite song is.

This picture is a single CD which they released recently. I have been not able to go to a GENERATIONS live concert recently. I’ve been many times before and I’m very sad now. But now, to hear this CD, I look forward to the day we will be able to go to GENERATIONS LIVE again.

Kajikuri, Miku Hi! My name is Miku Kajikuri.

I’m a second-year student studying Pharmaceutical Sciences at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences. I’m interested in Pharmacognosy, Chinese medicine, and Immunology. I also like dancing, singing, and watching DVDs of live music.

My favorite songs Now, my favorite band is Mrs. Green Apple. The lead singer has a very beautiful voice. I often listen to their songs on YouTube. I would like to introduce two recommend songs.

The first song is Whale song. It makes you pause what you are doing and listen to. The concept of this song is “Whale song to chase dreams and send to people who lose their identity”.

The second song is Public. The words of this song are interesting. It accurately expresses the ugliness and loveliness of a person. I like listening to these songs while watching the promotion video on YouTube. This is the first band I want to go to see LIVE!

Japanese Bands I Like I like music, such as J-pop, K-pop, and Rock. In this magazine, I would like to introduce some of the rock bands I like.

KEYTALK Are a 4-member Japanese rock band, with twin vocals, guitar vocal and bass vocal.

Each member writes songs and many of the songs are very exciting!

Mrs. GREEN APPLE Mrs. GREEN APPLE is a 5-member rock band with both men and a woman.

The vocalist makes all the lyrics, compositions and arrangements. Their songs have many sounds and the rhythm of the lyrics are unique.

KANA-BOON Used to be a 4-member rock band but now there are only 3. They play both up-tempo and slower songs. Their songs are sometimes used in anime themes.

SEKAI NO OWARI SEKAI NO OWARI, often called Sekaowa, is a Japanese mixed gender 4-member band with one member wearing a clown mask. Their songs have fantasy world view and dark lyrics with gentle melody.

Yabai T shatsu yasan Or often just called YabaT, is a Japanese three-piece rock band with mixed gender twin vocals. They are from Kansai and most of their songs have funny lyrics.

Katanozaka, Nanane Hi! My name is Nanane. I’m a secondyear student studying Pharmaceutical Sciences at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences. I’m interested in Pharmacognosy, Organic Chemistry, and Pharmacology. I also like music, animals, and playing games with my friends.

The best music in 2020 I have frequently been listening music since the corona pandemic began. Let me introduce the best music which found in that situation.

This artist is “ORβIT”. The group debuted on 11/11 this year. The group’s name “ORβIT” has two meanings, “walking each orbit (orbit meaning their life)” and “playing various music (All Beat) with each member”. As its name suggests, their first album “00” has many kind of music genre. For example, rap, rock, rhythm and blues, and ballads.

My favorite song is “UNIVERSE” which is their debut song. The song’s music video is very artistic and beautiful.

Their voices are completely different types and have good harmonies. For the first time in my life, I thought I want them to be more popular. If you are interested, please listen to their music.

Katou, Takako Hi! My name is Takako Kato.

I’m a second-year student studying pharmaceutical sciences at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences. I’m interested in pharmacotherapy, biochemistry, and pharmacodynamics. I also like cooking, singing karaoke, and travelling.

My star is One Direction!

Encounter with the One Direction When I was junior high school student, I found One direction. When I met them, I was unsure about taking an important exam. I was nervous about the test, but their song gave me courage.

What is One Direction for me One direction is a source of energy for me. I’m always listening to One Direction songs.

From the first time I met them to the present I’ve been a One Direction fan for 7 years. I still love them. I’ll be a One Direction fan forever!

My favorite music I like music very much. I like to listen to many kinds of music. When I am on the train or bus, I always listen to music.

Music makes me happy. I’m going to write about one of my favorite songs.

“Ain’t no mountain high enough” I think that this song’s phrase is catchy and easy to understand. This song is sung by many people. However, my favorite this song is sung by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. They are very good singers. It is also used in some movies. For example, “Stepmom”, “Guardians of the Galaxy”, and “Sister Act2”. This picture shows the soundtrack of Stepmom. Julia Roberts is in the movie. This movie is about how to become a good mother (even though she is a stepmom). Ain’t no mountain high enough is suitable for this movie.

Kinomura, Yuki Hi! I’m Yuki. I’m a secondyear student studying about medicine at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

I’m interested in how people feel when they take medicine, how to talk with patients, and how to speak with foreign people about medicine. I also like nature, movies, and sports. When I was a child, I went to Kyoto to see cherry blossoms every year in spring. Here is a picture of my favorite maples. Have you ever seen them in Kyoto? It’s wonderful! The Great Woman Singer, Hiroko Taniyama Actually, I love music. So, I was very happy the theme for this magazine was music, even though it wasn’t my choice. When I was 10 years old, I joined a home chorus group. At that time I practiced singing, and grew to love it more and more.

I’ll use my page to introduce to you my favorite singer, Hiroko Taniyama, and two of her songs. If you feel interested in them, please try listening to her songs.

Hiroko Taniyama’s official profile: Mrs. Taniyama was born in Kanagawa in 1956. She has been singing and composing since 1972.

First: Koi-suru Niwatori The song’s title means A Loving Hen in English. Her songs are often picked up to the TV program “Minna-no-uta”, and this is one of them. This song follows its title, so it is very sweet music. I felt calm when listening to it.

I’m a second-year student studying Pharmaceutical Sciences at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

I have a driving license, and sometimes I drive my car. I’m not good at driving, but it is so fun for me. My favorite song I like listening to music. I always listen to music on LINE. My favorite singer is GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE. I’ve loved it since I was in my second year of high school. I have many songs that I like. I have been to live concerts three times. My favorite song is “Love you more”, because it’s a song that really touches my heart and I can sympathize with it. My favorite album is “SHONEN Chronicle”. All the songs in this album are good songs and I never get tired of listening to them over and over again. I want more people to listen to these songs. Aurora I like the artist Bump of Chicken the most. Due to my father’s influence, they’ve been an artist I’ve always loved since I was in elementary school. My favorite song is Aurora, as the title mentions.

I went to their live for the first time last summer. This photo is the CD I bought at that time. The first live was a wonderful production and I was impressed. The live performance was completely different from listening to it on a CD. However, I mostly listen to Apple Music rather than CDs. I hope that the coronavirus will end and a day come soon when we can participate in live concerts again.

My favorite singers I like listening to music. Listening to music can change my mood and soothe my mind. So, I will introduce you two of my favorite singers.

DOBERMAN INFINITY Consists of five people who formed in 2014. Their songs have a wide mood range from high-tension songs to mellow ballads. My favorite song is “We are the one”. Listening to this song makes me feel encouraged and energized. I also like their new song “6six”. The place where the rap appears in the ballad is very cool.

Leola Is a singer-songwriter. Her name is Hawaiian, meaning the voice of the sun. As the name suggests, her singing voice makes me feel good. I was very impressed when I went to her live. She has a low name recognition, but I think that she is a very attractive singer. So I want everyone to know about her.

Kusaka, Narumi Hi! My name is Narumi Kusaka. I’m secondyear student studying Pharmaceutical Sciences at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

I’m interested in organic chemistry, pharmacotherapy, and biology. I also like shopping, cooking, and listening to music.

My favorite Western music and Japanese music I always listen to music on Spotify according to my mood. When I’m excited, I listen to exciting Western music. When I want something calmer, I listen to Japanese ballads. The first foreign artist I came to like was One Direction and I went to a concert for the first time when I was in high school. One Direction became so popular that it won various awards for a band formed in 2010. However, they broke up in 2016, and each of them has been performing solo since.

Also, the Japanese music artist I often listen to is Kobukuro. Every song of them is wonderful, and I especially like Tsubomi. This song is also the theme song of the drama and is dedicated to his late mother. The drama’s title is Tokyo Tower Okan and Me, sometimes Oton. Please watch it.

Maeda, Chiyuki Hi. My name is Chiyuki Maeda. I’m a Secondyear student studying at Pharmaceutical Sciences at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

I’m interested in chemistry, biology, and plants. I also like fishing, cycling, and driving. I went to Shimanami Kaido in the summer when I was a first-year student at university and enjoyed cycling. There was an English conversation class when I was in high school. It was so much fun that I wanted to improve my English. I used to go to a high school in Kyoto, so I often saw foreign tourists. I became friends with foreigners who were sightseeing when I was visiting temples with my friends and had lunch with them. I can’t speak English properly, but I had a good time. I would like to do my best to improve my English. I am not good at listening, so I would like to listen to English every day.

My favorite KPOP songs I love KPOP. I’m very happy to write about music because I listen to it every day. I often listen to it on Spotify and YouTube. I would like to introduce some of my favorite KPOP songs.

First is a song called “Wolf”. This is sung by EXO, a popular Korean idol group. I have been supporting this group for nine years, and chose it that I especially loved. You can see a sharp dance in the music video, and everyone will find it cool.

Second is “Everybody”. It is by SHINee which consists of five people. I don’t understand the meaning of the lyrics.

But, when I’m not feeling well, listening to it makes me feel better. The dance of it is characteristic, so it makes me want to dance together.

Gen Hoshino I want to introduce my favorite singer Gen Hoshino. He is a singer and an actor. When I watched a drama on TV, he was an actor. He played the role of a slightly different boyfriend, and he sang the theme song. It was the song “Love.” He wrote the music and the words. This song has a good rhythm and lyrics. I liked this song, so I became a fan of Gen Hoshino.

I would like to introduce two songs.

So the music video was made with a wedding as its motif. I recommend that you not only listen to the song, but also watch the music video while listening to it. Namie Amuro is a legendary diva in Japan. She made her debut as a singer in 1992. She retired in 2018, but she produced a lot of famous songs. Favorite 4 Albums Meimi Tamura: “Ichijiku” Meimi Tamura is a stage actor and a singer. Her singing voice is not only delicate and beautiful, but also powerful, so her songs are wonderful!

“Watashitachi no enzai (Our False Accusations)” is my favorite song in the album.

Starlight Kukugumi: “La revue de matinee” The songs are in my favorite anime, Shoujo-Kageki Revue Starlight. The sound is beautiful because it uses the sound of an orchestra. You can enjoy just listening to the songs. However, you will enjoy it much more if you watch the anime, because the lyrics are written in accordance with the images, called film scoring.

Song sung by my favorite singer I love music. It’s fun to play a song in your earphones at a really loud volume and enter your own world, or to sing along with it. So I always bring earphones to listen to music when I go out.

There are 400 songs in Apple Music on my smartphone. This is one of the 50 songs I especially like in the playlist. The first time I heard this song was when my favorite singer Ryuhei Maruyama was singing this song in Kanjam. I was interested in the song he sang with a gentle voice. It’s a song that sympathizes with you and gives you courage; you’re not alone.

Also, Aimyon has many romance songs, but my favorite song is “Goodbye Today”, which is not a romance song, but I can feel the unique lyrics of Aimyon. Pianoman was the first Billy Joel song I heard. The main character of this song is a piano man who sings at a bar, and sings the lives of acquaintances made there. What I like about this song is that he sings about the lonely people who pursue their dreams on a beautiful melody.

Two Love Albums I like music. It may be the influence of my father. My father hasn’t had much time off since long ago. However, I have a faint memory of days off on Sundays and humming music happily while folding the laundry together. I would like to use my page to introduce two albums I found from J-POP and want to recommend.

ARASHI: ”untitled” ARASHI is an idol group who is active in Japan. I feel that many Japanese idols have an image of not being good at singing. I was one of them. But, with this album, that was overturned. They have a beautiful falsetto, and especially their harmony is comfortable. Also, since the rhythm changes from beginning to end, you will want to repeat from the beginning to the end without getting bored.

Notani, Kyoka

Mr. Children: Mr. Children 1992-1995 This is Mr. Children’s first greatest hits album. I started listening to it when I became interested in CD jackets.

Contrary to “untitled”, the songs on this album have a slow tempo, so it is recommended to listen to them at night. Recently, when I can’t sleep, I play this CD and fall asleep before the first song is over.

Hi! My name is Kyoka Notani. I’m a second student studying pharmacy at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences. I’m interested in development of new drugs, brain science, and toxic substances for us. I also like eating hamburg steak, cream soda, and sushi.

Lemon My favorite song is Lemon. Lemon is a very famous song sung by Kenshi Yonezu and has received various awards in the music world. The reason I fell in love with Lemon is that because I saw a drama called “Annatunal”.

Lemon was the theme song for the drama. Lemon’s theme is the “death of a loved one”, and the lyrics are deeply linked to that of the drama. So, when I first heard it, I was very impressed.

In addition to Lemon, many of Kenshi Yonezu’s songs are touching, so please listen to them. I have never been to Kenshi Yonezu’s live performance, so I would like to see one.

Favorite Singers I always listen to music. Recently, I listen to various singers. Above all, I have been listening to two singers for several years. I would like to introduce two singers in this magazine.

Hirai Dai I found him on the app called mix channel. I started liking him when I heard him sing the lyrics ‘happiness is not made. It’s something that you notice’ from his song ‘Slow & Easy’. It was wonderful. Recently I like ‘Stand by me, Stand by you’. This song tells me that meeting others is a miracle.

My favorite song is ‘Cradle of love’. This song is full of the feeling that people cherish lovers but he feels anxiety about it. His lyrics won my sympathy.

Hoshino Gen I started liking him after I saw a drama on TV in 2016. I especially like ‘Friend Ship’ and ‘Hada’. He often uses a marimba. The marimba has soft tone so I like it the best. These two songs make me relax. They’re more interesting when we know the meaning of his lyrics.

Okada, Marino Hi! My name is Marino. I’m a second-year student studying pharmacy at Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences. My Favorite Artist I like listening to a cappella. My favorite a cappella artist is Pentatonix.

Their voices and harmonies are very beautiful, and I think they are the best artist in the a cappella genre. I listen to their music on LINE music on my way to school. I would like to introduce my three albums that I own.

PENTATONIX | PTX Vol.1&2 This album is their first album and is filled with cover songs. They cover songs that anybody around the world would have heard of, and the album also includes one of their most popular works: “DAFT PUNK MEDLEY.” This album is my favorite album.

PENTATONIX | PTX Vol. Ⅲ This album is their second released album. They have their own original songs and the quality of each song makes it hard to believe that it’s all a cappella.

PENTATONIX This album is the third album that I own. After this album, the member who was in charge of the bass lines left the group. This resulted in this album becoming the final album of the original Pentatonix.

Recently, they cover some popular Japanese songs. They have also collaborated with one of Japan’s popular artists. I would like to go see one of their live concerts when the pandemic over.

My Favorite Singer And Music I sometimes listen to music using Youtube on my phone. I don’t go to live concerts, but I like going to karaoke with my friends. I usually sing my favorite songs.

One of my favorite singers is Megatera Zero. He is a singer who remakes other artist’s songs and sings his own songs.

I often find good music and artists by wathing his video. For example, I found a great band “SUPER BEAVER” from his video.

“SUPER BEAVER” is also one of my favorite bands. I really like their direct words in their songs. For example, “27” and “rashisa” are very nice and these are my favorite songs. 27 is also covered by Megatera Zero. It is played with only a guitar. It is cool too.

My favorite artist My favorite artist is BTS. BTS is the most popular idol group in Korea. They have won numerous awards all around the world. Although most of the lyrics of the songs they sing are in Korean, they are popular in many countries other than South Korea. MONKEY MAJIK Is a band consisting of four people, and they are mixed group of Japanese and Canadian. Two of the four are Canadian. And they do the vocals in that group. The point I recommend is their beautiful melodies and lyrics in a mixture of Japanese and English. Do you know this song “Around the World” which they made? It was a theme song of a Japanese TV series. There are lines in the song that say “If ya wanna be somebody. Get up on ya feet and go,” and “don’t run away. Cause if it’s not OK!” This message encourages me when I feel like I’ve almost given up; I can do my best again.

My favorite songs I’m not very interested in the bands and singers I often see on TV. However, I love Disney and listen to their songs a lot, so I would like to introduce two songs from each of the two Disney movies.

Remember Me This movie is set in Mexico, and I can feel the Mexicanness from the songs.

I especially like “Un Poco Loco” and “Proud Corazón” among the songs in this movie. The main character, Miguel, is sung by a boy named Hiiro Ishibashi, who hasn’t changed his voice yet, and is healed by his clear voice. The tone of the guitar is also very comfortable.

Aladdin Aladdin is famous for “A Whole New World”, but other than that, I like “Speechless” sung by Naomi Scott as Jasmine and “Prince Ali” sung by Will Smith as Genie. “Speechless” is a song that appeals to gender discrimination, and it’s a powerful and strong song.

My favorite four song I love WACK’s music. WACK is an entertainment office. Among all their bands, CARRY LOOSE (CL) is my most recent favorite. CL is an idol group that broke up on October 31st of this year (2020). I chose these four songs from CL’s music.

My favorite songs I listen to music on YouTube every morning. When I want to feel excited, I often listen to Ryokuoushoku Shakai, a pop rock band. Haruko Nagaya is the female vocalist, and her voice is amazing. They have various melody types because the members of the band are all songwriters. I like all of their songs but I did my best to choose two recommendations.

First, I recommend “Mela!”. This song is upbeat and is my source of energy.

They have this uploaded on a YouTube channel called THE FIRST TAKE. This is their best performance. The music video is in an anime style and has a deep message.

Secondly, the song I recommend is called “Hajimarinouta”. This is the first song I ever listened to by Ryokuoushoku Shakai. I was surprised when I heard her powerful voice. I instantly fell in love with this band. I really like the melody of the chorus.

Other than these recommendations, there are many other great songs. You should listen to their music once.

I usually listen to the BGMs of computer games more than songs on YouTube. I hardly listen to songs. So I have never been to a live concerts and I really have no music albums. For that reason, when our magazine’s theme was decided as music, I was confused because I didn’t have any ideas about my favorite songs. But I remember the only musician who I subscribe to on YouTube.

The song(?) I recommend is “Akanechan will listen to whatever you say” composed by GYARI. This song is sung by “VOICELOID”, and the detail of the song is that Akane-chan, who is included VOICELOID, is listening to what her friends want to do. Song’s detail isn’t characteristic, then GYARI adds his unique mood to this. As a result, this song has acquires a cult popularity.

Actually there are many cover songs on YouTube and the original gets more than ten million views on YouTube. I’m one of the followers to GYARI. I like the mood of his songs. Back number is a band loved by many people, with many theme songs for dramas and movies, and tie-up songs for commercials. In addition to the coolness and comfort of the sound, back number music is attractive because of its realistic and highly sympathetic lyrics. I would like to introduce two of my favorite songs from back number.

Christmas song This song is included in the attached photo, an album called Encore. It became the theme song of a drama.

Yuzu is a group consisting of two men, Yujin Kitagawa and Koji Iwasawa. They are from Yokohama and made their debut in 1998. I love their harmonized singing very much. My Favorite Music I rarely listen to music because there is no music that excites me to listen to. Having lived a life without music, I would like to introduce music that will be of interest to everyone. It is music that I was interested in, so I think everyone can be interested in it too. The song I would like everyone to listen to is called Black Sheep by Keyakizaka46. The song is about a misfit and depicts the depression and emotional conflict of not fitting in with your surroundings. What is amazing is that it is an idol who is singing this song. Nonetheless, I think it is their charm; you don’t feel anything is strange. The lyrics of this song have a very strong message. It makes the Japanese listening, who value cooperation, think deeply. Favourite Rappers I don’t have a favourite rapper. In fact, I love rap music in general and enjoy listening to multiple artists. Some of my favourite rappers include Logic, J. Cole, and Kanye West. Logic has a boom-bap style and I listen to him when I am in a good mood. J. Cole and Kanye both have a story-telling atmosphere in their music, so I listen to them when I am trying to study or calm down. My favourite song ever has to be “Under Pressure,” by Logic, in which he raps about his come up in the rap industry and his past struggles.

My favorite songs I listen to music a lot. I always listen to music on Apple Music. I listen to various songs regardless of their genre. I like Detective Conan. I like B’z because B’z is often the theme song of Conan. The vocal voice is wonderful and the guitar sound is very cool.

I have several albums, but I would like to introduce two recommended ones. I especially like fast-paced and intense music, so here are two songs I recommend.

The first song is [Ai no Bakudan]. This song is a really great song. It’s a song with a fast tempo and easy to put on.

Also, when you sing at karaoke etc, it is a song that makes you scream, so it will release stress. Whenever I listen to this, I hum.

Music Video I recommended I like idols. So I often watch music videos and live videos rather than just listening to music. I like that I can enjoy both with my ears and my eyes. This time, I will introduce the recommended music videos on YouTube.

“FIESTA” (IZ*ONE) They are a Korean idol group. The characteristics of this Korean music is the rhythm that remains in your ears. I can’t understand the lyrics at all because I can’t speak Korean. Even so, it’s a gorgeous video that I can still enjoy. However, I prefer the Japanese version to listen to music. Because it also allows me to go into the world of music.

“ZOC実験室” (ZOC) “Don’t Isolate Loneliness” is a concept idol group. They have unique atmosphere that is nothing like normal idol groups. This is a their debut song; it was a shock when I first heard it. The intro beat is the best.

Martin Garrix I love EDM. When I drive my car while playing it, I get very excited. First, I’ll introduce “Animals”. This song has a very impressive bass and naturally goes into the rhythm. Be careful not to overspeed when playing this song.

My favorite band I love music. I would like to introduce you to the band THE ORAL CIGARETTES. THE ORAL CIGARETTES is a group of four, and all members are from Kansai. They made major debut with Kishikaisei STORY in 2010. They make many cool songs. My favorite song is ReI. This song was made in the hope of restoration from the Great East Japan Earthquake, so this song was released for free. The reason why I like this song is because it’s both calm and powerful.

I came across this band when I was in high school. When I first listened to their songs of this band, they had a great impact on me. I still like this band as much as the time I first listened to their songs.

Blue Hour / TOMORROW X TOGETHER This song is both fantastic and also energizing. It contains pop sounds that make you want to dance. Also, Blue Hour is a time zone when the sky that occurs after sunset turns dark blue, and it is a good song to listen to at that time.

My favorite musician My favorite singer of all time is Post Malone. His music heals my tired mind and makes me feel better. Also, his music often ranks high on the American Billboard. In particular, my favorite song of his is called Sunflower.

This song was also the theme song for the movie Spider-Man: Into the SpiderVerse. The song is about a woman who does better than the people around her, comparing her to a sunflower.

Sunflowers grow strong even in an environment where other flowers are shriveled, and they also absorb nutrients from other flowers. When I learned the meaning of the lyrics, I fell in love with this song even more. I wish I could live like a sunflower.

Hajimarinokokyuu One brother was Michikatsu and the younger brother was Yoriichi. The older brother later became a demon, and the younger brother became a swordsman at the beginning of Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer).

Yoriichi was born with an excellent talent as a swordsman and overwhelmed Michikatsu. Yoriichi used the breath of the sun, but Michikatsu could only use the breath of the moon no matter how hard he trained. The breath of the sun was later called the beginning breathing, and its derivation allowed a lot of breathing.

Michikatsu became a demon in search of eternal life in order to train beyond Yoriichi. It ended when Michikatsu defeated Yoriichi who was weak in life. Michikatsu has become a first string demon and is living now. The swordsmen confront each other to defeat the first string demon.

Four Great Albums I absolutely love music. When we voted to decide on the theme for this magazine, I was very happy that music was chosen. I have been soaking up music for over 20 years now, and I’d like to use my page to introduce to you a few great albums I have found from across the spectrum.

Fat Freddy’s Drop: Blackbird From New Zeland, Fat Freddy’s Drop is reggae music played big band style, and oozing cool. It’s not your typical “reggae” style; you gotta turn the lights down, grab a drink and just chill when you listen to Blackbird.

Gordi: Reservoir I have much respect for Gordi.

She released her debut album and graduated from Medicine (as a doctor!!) at the SAME TIME. Deep voice for a young lady, and such inspiring music.

Bustamento: Intrepid Adventures to the Lost Riddim Islands Bustamento is a great collection of musicians lead by Australian music icon Nicky Bomba. In 2012 they released their first album of music which is similar to the upbeat rhythms of the Carribean. Very tropical, easy to listen to and good fun.
