GENERAL SKILLED MIGRATION VISAS Australian General Skilled Migration Visas (GMS) program is for skilled professionals and trade workers who need skills / experience, qualification, and good English skills to migrate and settle in Australia. Following are the different General Skilled Migration Visas categories;
Skilled Nominated Subclass 190 () The Skilled Nominated Subclass 190 It is a permanent visa which requires nomination by a State or Territory Government. It is mandatory to lodge an Expression of Interest through SkillSelect and be invited by the Department of Immigration to apply to be able to apply for this visa. In order to qualify for a Subclass 190 visa, you would need to: Lodge an EOI and be invited to apply Be nominated by a State or Territory Government Meet the pass mark in the skilled migration points test – currently 60. Be aged between 18 and 49 inclusive Pass Skills Assessment in an occupation on the relevant Skilled Occupations List Have Competent English or higher Meet health and character requirements Applicant can be in Australia or overseas when apply for a Subclass 190 Visa. If applying from within Australia, you would need to hold a substantive visa or a Bridging A, B or C visa. Applicants may include their spouses, de facto partners and same-sex partners, dependent children and other dependent family members – eg parents who live with you and are financially dependent
