LACQUER ART EXHIBITION AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER is a cultural center, aiming at celebrating traditional craftsmanship and lacquer fine-art.

The construction is established followinf the model of the craft village development center with integrated and mutually supporting functions. This will be both a place for exhibiton ,research and seminars to develop the art of lacquer. At the same time, applying these developments in production and vocational education. The center also provides community for residents in Tuong Binh Hiep craft village.

The implementation of the theme “LACQUER ART EXHIBITION AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER, Tuong Binh Hiep lacquer village” aims to preserve the traditional industry and open up opportunities for the development of the craft village tourism industry as well as the economy. Thereby,it will contribute to raising the traditional values of Vietnamese art, bringing Binh Duong lacquer to develop in the international market.

The project uses a design connecting traditional elements of a craft village and impressionism language (as the characteristic of lacquer painting)

The key factors that makes lacquer(‘SƠN MÀI’) different from other genre of fine art is its complicated technique, espcially the step of ‘MÀI’water rubbing.

Inspired by the very essence of lacquer is the technique of rubbing, the idea initially comes from the zigzag lines on a rectangular frame. The line simulates the hand movement of a craftsman when grinding water on the wooden black board.

The design creates a multi-layered space, including inner space, outer space, half-in-outer space, creating many spatial experiences for users.

Building block consists of 2 main parts. The square block - the framework, is the hardware - the source of the lacquer rising from the traditional profession with the intricate techniques that must be followed. The zigzag line piercing the main block, is software creativity and innovation are required in any artistic profession, especially lacquer.

Ziczac block is designed based on two main ideas. The first is thethe color changing from red to gold- the primary color gamut in lacquer. The second is the material. Here, the most basic is the eggshell material. The surface is trimmed to create a plate like an eggshell.

The main block has an atrum in the middle to create a green space for the building.

Library District 1 is a multimedia library, with the aim of creating a friendly learning environment, to help young people and local people promote their reading habits. The work is developed in the form of an open library, with other services such as cafes, seminars and playgrounds.

The library provides a comfortable reading space for readers, not divided into sitting areas and book stores like a traditional library. This helps free up space for reading. Therefore, the design should create a flexible and diverse space, giving readers a lot of experience.

The theme of this project is to create A LIBRARY AS A SPACE FOR EVERYONE. Going to library to read books is not a common thing in Vietnam, especially Saigon. The idea of changing that habbit of people is what i am after since the begining of this project. People don’t go to library because they are not familiar to this. SO HOW ABOUT CREATE A SPACE THAT FAMILIAR TO ALL THE SAIGONESES? Sai gon is famous for its vibrant urban fabric with numerous of alleys.

Alleys is absolutely the familiar imaege for Saigon’s people. That ‘s how the concept is to BRING THE ALLEYS SPACE INTO THE LIBABRY

The module is not so simple but complicated and varied according to 3 rules : window (plain), balcony (protruding), logia (indenting).

One moduel includes : - reading desk - bench seat - bookshelf - pot of flower Depending on the position of the modules may change. The reader when using can freely read in many comfortable positions.

OGRANIC SUPERMARKET is a general supermarket, including the following functions: retail supermarket, cafe-restaurant-food service, shop showroom, shop, especially with organic products.

Supermarkets need a separate approach for goods and customers.

The supermarket should have a commercial space design that creates a comfortable feeling to stimulate shopping.

Buildings located in an urban residential area have unique features and existing problems that are both a challenge and an opportunity in design.

The project is adjacent to 2 main roads, An Duong Vuong and Tran Binh Trong. With An Duong Vuong Street, ( a larger street) opposite is a department store, it is proposed to place the main entrance and the secondary entrance accessing immediately to the cafe area. With Tran Binh Trong Street, opposite is An Dong market and the shophouse area, it is proposed to open the auxiliary entrance accessing the shop-showroom area.

The surrounding is a chaotic combination of markets, supermarkets, townhouses. A giant supermarket with glass wall seems not fit well. How to solvwe the problem? Other buildings in the neighbor with diffrent height creating an urban polyline leaving mark on the sky. In order to make the supermarket blend well with background, I would like to think the upcoming building as a continution of the existing polyline.

leather suitcase and bags factory Location: Industrial area Tân BÏnh, HCM Area: 1.9 ha Software: Revit Suitcase and bag factory is a factory specializing in manufacturing and processing for different brands of suitcases and bags The factory combines production and marketing, promoting products of suitcases and bags to units in need. The project includes 3 main functions: production area, management office, product showroom.

The project strictly requires functional design and technical design.

The factory design is the interlocking blocks forming open spaces, allowing light and ventilation for the factory.

The form focuses on the facade design, which is vertical bar panels with a variable cross-section, in order to create a ripple effect on the facade,

Adjacent to 2 main roads of Kenh19/5 and CN10. Kenh 19/5 street connects to a residential area, crowded by people - this will be arranged the main entrance for staff. CN10 internal road will be a suitable access for importing and exporting goods.

For factory building , natural elements like wind and sun are important. Those two elemets are carefully considered in this project To create a better work environment, the factory is designed to have more green space in between the buldings. Employees have a place to relax after their work shift.

The inner yards are made sure to have wind coming through.

The work is based on the suitcase and bag production line to build a suitable function diagram. Split the main production block into 3 blocks: 1 / Raw material warehouse - Leather cutting workshop 2 / Workshop - Finishing 3 / Factory packaging - Finished products warehouse The office and welfare area is located in a different area, but worker can easily access to the factory. There is a road connecting the showroom and production area so that visitors to the showroom can visit the production line.

aquatic sport stadium Location: overpass Nguyễn Văn Cừ, distriect 4, Hcm city Area: 3ha Software: Revit

Design project of the Sports Center, built on the existing land near Nguyen Van Cu overpass, Van Don wharf, Q4 with an existing area of about 30000 m2 The Gymnastics and Sports Center project is designed to be a place to organize modern water sports competitions, with the aim of becoming a cultural and sports center for the community with many public services. The project is designed to target people in District 4 and Ho Chi Minh City.

Locating the main building in a northsouth direction, with benefit from light and wind. Part of the area near the overpass,which disadvantage in height,will be used for green spaces and outdoor sports.

Functional area includes: 2 scaffolds, swimming pool area for competition, services area for audience, athlete area, management office, community area with cafe and sport classes.

The long span structure used in this project is a steel frame that exceeds the span of 30m.

commonwealth bank head office Location: Sala town, district 2, HCM Area: 1.4 ha Software: Revit, Corona COMMONWEALTH BANK HEAD OFFICE is a high-rise building with 20 floors, including high-rise blocks and podiums. With the main functions are: - Sales office - Sales office management department - Sports catering services - Meeting ceremony - Head office office Along with the auxiliary functions are: warehouse, warehouse, high-rise technology, ...

The design is based on the following elements: the bank’s chain function, the suitability of the surrounding landscape, and the bank’s own brand identity. Commonwealth Bank has a square logo, two main colors are yellow and blue . So the design is based on the square module and yellow as the key color.

cuộc thi home-for-all | the shelter - hammock cafe Location: under Thủ Thiêm bridge, district 2 Area: 0.5 ha Software: Revit

“Home-for-All” is a project that is built upon the premise of “thinking together and creating together” with the community. It is an architectural manner that goes further than simply supporting the people affected by the disaster to question the most fundamental meaning of the future of public architecture. I would like students to present proposals that build from and go beyond the concept of “Homefor-All” from a perspective that takes into consideration of people living in our society today.

Ideas come from hammock cafes for the homeless and the workers who can’t go home to rest. They will go to the shop to rent a hammock so they can take a nap.

With the spirit of the Home for all contest, we want to create THE SHELTER for the community, so that with a little money, the homeless and workers can buy a place to rest, relax, and live with better quality.

dual city international workshop | Revitalization Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia Area: 7.5 ha Software: Sketchup

Within the course: Outbound programme of ASEAN dual-city joint workshop, the structure and intensity of the workshops not only put together students and teachers from the region, but also invite stakeholders, policymakers and practitioners to share spontaneous responses to the proposal, not as the fixed answer to the problem of the urban condition, but rather invite a speculative and spatial urbanism that solicit multiple approaches to the problem.

The aim of the workshop is to draw arguments that test critical approaches to the Asiatic urban condition, whilst exploring multiple models suggest different versions projected towards future deliberation developed throughout mixed groups of students and teachers.

Group D : REVITALIZATION THROUGH THE EXPERIENCE OF MORALITY. Our project conceived as a place to nurture young local people, so that future Cambodian generations are more active and confident. Inhabitants can feel a sense of ownership by becoming parts of the project, while being involved in the process of building.

To encourage morality education, firstly, we come up with a functional program, which provides schooling and working facilities. We also want to raise awareness of local culture and its conservation, while implementing traditional Khmer house structure alongside renovated old factories.

In order to create consistency within informal buildings, it is proposed that modern and vernacular style architecture are inserted in-between them.

heritage preservation | the line of history | best project Location:Bến Bạch Đằng, Tôn Đức Thắng, quận 1, TP HCM Area: 1 ha Software: Revit, Autocad

HERITAGE PRESERVATION is a workshop within the framework of the Vietnam-Italy Conference on the program on preserving architectural heritage. In the workshop, there will be 9 groups of students given the title of different lands and must come up with a suitable conservation plan.

The line of history with the theme is to solve the problem of the Saigon river bank. Seeing the river as a flow of time, we had the idea of turning the riverbank into a HISTORY Park with exhibits of Saigon over time.

There are displays that are recreations, and those that are historic objects existing on the grounds.

anti-flood house | safe houses handbook Starting from Ha Tinh and the rocky mountain valley of Tan Hoa, Quang Binh - which is famous for flooding “beyond electric poles�, the Anti-Flood House has built and tested 9 models of safe houses to cope with floods. in Quang Ninh, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Khanh Hoa, Soc Trang, Ben Tre, and Hau Giang provinces.

By the end of 2019, the Anti-flood House has provided technical and fi-

nancial support to more than 700 households to build safe houses in 7 localities across the country. In the context of increasingly complicated natural disasters and extreme weather events in Vietnam, more and more households need guidance, attention and technical assistance in building safe houses. For this reason, we boldly share our accumulated experiences through the Safe Home Handbook.
