Nia is a black girl who is afraid about what may happen to her as a police car starts to pull them over. Cecilia, who is not a minority, does not have the same un- derstanding of Nia’s perspective on life, and a misunderstanding ensues.

FARYAAD: A CRY FROM IRAN

Persian poetry captures the imagery, drama and emotion that is inherent in the Persian language, Farsi. Iranian-born dancer, Katayoun Farah, weaves a tapestry of poetry in motion in a contemporary classical Persian dance from Iran, a style known for its fluid form and mysticism. For Iranians, art, dance and music are essential. Some would say, it’s in their blood. Through struggle and suffering, their innate drive to create, dance and sing, intensifies and shapes the world, as it once did for thousands of years.
