Terry Alderton Fri 24 Feb, 8pm, £15 Following the success of his critically acclaimed radio show ‘Terry Alderton’s All Crazy Now’ (Radio 4) and a year spent on Albert Square, Terry is back on tour. He’s a star of numerous smash hit Edinburgh shows, national tours and TV appearances. Playing select dates at his favourite venues around the country, no two shows are the same as Terry creates a world of extraordinary nonsense and absolute mayhem. A spellbinding combination of noises, the voices, the shoes, incredible physicality and a mind-blowing insight into the inner workings of a fantastic comedy mind. “This is a mainstream act that dares to be different, that comes from the soul... Effortlessly enjoyable yet excitingly different” The Times Suitable for: 16 yrs+

The Y presents

Emergency! Comedy Sun 26 Feb, 5pm, Pay What You Decide We present a double bill of local talent kicking off with Poetman. Performance Poetry, Charming & Dapper, Arguably Comedy, Occasional Rapper, Poetman fights word crime through the power of rhyme, righting wrongs by writing songs. Using live looping to poke fun at powerful pop culture figures, Poetman loves to take poetry where no one expects it. After the interval we present The Fixer. A comedy that could almost be a tragedy… He’s always there. He’s always watching. And sometimes... he fixes things. Written by: Emma J. Bamford

Now in its 23rd year, the stellar list of past winners include Josh Widdicombe, Johnny Vegas, Jason Manford, Seann Walsh and Rhod Gilbert. Join us as we present this year’s finest up and coming acts, nominated by comedy promoters and agents from across the UK.

No two nights of this extravaganza will be the same. This is less of a boast than admission that a) I am hopeless at learning scripts and b) I still have no idea what I am going to include. Perhaps you can help? If you’ve read my books, watched the series, or indeed, ever caught anything I have presented then maybe you might contribute to the feast of reason and flow of the soul that I guarantee these evenings will contain. Questions like, “What was meeting John Lennon/Michael Jackson/David Bowie like?” or, I suspect, most popular of all “How comes you’ve made so many rotten TV programs, Dan?”
