2023 CELEBRATING DESIGN TEXAS AWARD WINNERS
THE DIVERSITY IN DESIGN SMALL BUSINESS GRANT
DESIGN COMMUNITY EVENTS
r e s i d e n t ’ s M e s s a g e
Hello ASID Texas Chapter,
Oh, what a night! It was so lovely to see so many of you at Celebrating Design Texas last month From the social events to the Expo, CEU opportunities, Pop-ups, and Awards Gala, it was a great multi-day event I’m honored to include myself in the list of category winners for this year ’ s design competition With our difficult yet responsible plan to pause the Design Community (DC) awards for this fiscal year, we are proud to say the Texas Chapter has made it through these tough and uncertain financial times in a strong place with high hopes for the future Thank you to our generous Industry Partners, Texas Chapter Sponsors, and Exhibitors for their support We could not have done it without you
Congratulations to all the winners this year! These champions and esteemed professionals represent the finest interior design achievements within the ASID Texas Chapter With more opportunities for winning, we added additional categories, and DCspecific awards were also offered this year For those of you who were unable to participate, I highly recommend you do so next year You don’t have a shot if you don’t try Thank you to Co-Chairs Laura McDonald Stewart, FASID, RID, LEED AP, WELL AP; and Lisa Barron, ASID, RID; as well as our generous Diamond Sponsors Dallas Market Center and California Closets for all their support j
Please know we are revising the Texas Chapter Sponsorship to reflect the strategic plan of my successor, Veronica Sanders, Allied ASID While I won’t reveal any top-secret information, please know she has a lot of exciting goals and plans for the Texas Chapter but is mainly geared toward our members (you) The new package is slated for release to interested parties on November 1, 2023, in the coming weeks We hope you will help spread the word to your vendors and beloved showrooms
PAs my final days as President tick away like the secondhand on a clock, I must give another round of thanks to everyone who supported and helped me through this term I hold immense gratitude for my Board of Directors, the DC Chairs and their Financial Chairs, the Committee leaders, and all other volunteers who helped keep the Texas Chapter thriving We did it!
Before I sign off for this issue, please know we are always looking for more help If you or someone you know is interested in leadership, please reach out to Veronica or email Pat Gallagher at administrator@tx asid org

A Reminder: Our Chapter Office Has Moved
Come see our new office on the campus of Chapter Diamond Sponsor Dallas Market Center! We are in the beautiful Interior Home + Design Center, full of wonderful showrooms, many of which are ASID Industry Partners
Several volunteer leaders are working on the office’s design and securing vendor donations The space is a work in progress, but in the coming year, we anticipate holding more meetings and events in the office and look forward to spotlighting our Chapter Gold Sponsors on a rotating basis As the finish-out progresses, ASID members will be welcome to drop in to charge devices, do a little work, and maybe even hold small vendor or client meetings

Membership meetings in a furniture showroom are a win-win!
Networking in action! The ideal image of engagement in a fabulous showroom. Thank you to Summer Classics & Gabby for hosting!
This meeting was largely a success because every guest had a chance to stand up and introduce themselves before the start of the presentation This humanizing effect made way for organic two-way communication and an overall successful meeting with a resounding YES to the growth strategies presented! Look out: Austin DC is about to make waves!
The newly appointed Austin DC Chair and Financial Chair pose like ducks on water; it was a little scary for them knowing they were about to present a whole growth strategy approach to the membership. Thank goodness for prosecco and popsicles!
