David Neville Store Celebrates 50 years David Neville’s opened its doors for the first time on Saturday 25th May 1968. It rained nearly all day and hardly a soul ventured out until 4pm in the afternoon when the first sale was made, a McIntosh round table and 4 nesting chairs for the sum of £80. We were up and running and still are after 50 years. This is quite an achievement for a small local retailer. How have we achieved this? Personal service, satisfaction, loyal customers and loyal staff in all departments of the business. All the staff, past and present have made huge contributions to the success of the business to whom I am very grateful. However, this is a family business and over the years all three of my sons have made contributions to its success. Michael is now at the helm with fellow Director Paul Mason who has been with the company since he was 17 and having started from scratch is now an expert in all aspects of the business. I know that my father who set me up in business would be very proud. May the success continue. By David Neville
