What is EVQ?
The East Village Queer Film Festival (EVQ) celebrates Queer film in all its glorious diversity. We welcome filmmakers who entertain, explore and promote queer-themed issues. This year’s EVQ will showcase a variety of film and music video genres. The festival fosters a highly inclusive environment for all artists and seeks to build community through queer cinema and entertainment

Our History
The interest in the EVQ continues to grow, and this year we received over 200 submissions and have narrowed it down to the 30 Official Selections. Of the 30 Official Selections, 18 films are directed by women and BIPOC filmmakers, such as:

Wild Project has been an important member of the East Village business community since 2007. With an annual attendance of over 12,000 patrons of diverse backgrounds each year, the cultural events occurring in our 89-seat green theater throughout the year truly possess the potential to impact our business partners in lucrative ways. With this year’s festival, and following upcoming events, we expect over 20,000 visitors to our website, social media pages and venue over the next 4 months. The festival itself will attract and impact an estimate of 1,000 direct patrons and over 10,000 indirect patrons.
