When I finish school I want to be … a doctor. My desire to become a doctor is strengthened by my desire to help others who endure health problems such as my brother, who has cystic fibrosis.
Apart from class work, at school I enjoy … hanging with my friends, for without school I would not be able to see them all at the same place and same time. My school’s community involvement includes … we always do the Cancer Council’s Relay for Life, among many other events, and last year we hosted Light the Night for the Leukaemia Foundation. Roughly 150 attended and we were able to raise $15,000.
My main responsibility in this role is … by 2012, I had at least 100 friends and family gathered under one banner “Zac Ops” to do the Great Strides Walkathon. My goal for 2013 is to assemble a team made up of family and friends, and the Montmorency Secondary College. I enjoy community work because … it is satisfying. I have also done a number of different charity events as part of my school … such as … the Leukaemia Foundation World’s Greatest Shave. When I’m not volunteering, in my spare time I … enjoy reading, swimming or visiting family because I like to spend most of my time with family.

My community involvement includes … When I was four my little brother, Zac, was born. He was later diagnosed with the genetic disorder cystic fibrosis. After a few years of trying to deal with the illness, my parents and I decided to try to do more for him and others. We began attending many Cystic Fibrosis Australia fund-raising events. The first of many activities we did was the Cystic Fibrosis Great Strides Walkathon, which we still do as a family. Everyone wears red and last year we dressed as superheroes.
My first memory of school is … falling off the jungle gym while playing cowboys and Indians.
