Join us for a range of workshops and working bees down at the Grow Wānaka Community Garden.

2023 is o to a productive and lush start with plenty of growth in the garden beds over the summer months. The events calendar is also full of a range of interactive and engaging workshops. February workshops include edible landscapes with Ben Elms, herbal tea making with Loran Verpillot from Herbal Culture and our very rst pop-up community kitchen event in partnership with Community Networks/LINK.

For those wanting to dig in and volunteer at one of our working bees pop down on a Saturday morning from 9.30am and meet the team.

Wanaka A&P Show 2023

The Wanaka A&P Show’s online ticketing is now open. We encourage everyone to purchase their tickets online before coming to the Show to save on both cost and queue time at the gate.

The line up for the two days is fantastic. We have already had a wonderful response for both livestock and home industry competitive entries. If you haven’t entered into one of our events we strongly encourage you to have a look on our website and get involved. One of the new events this year is Cake Decorating for amateurs. All the classes in this new section will be judged on appearance and decoration solely. These events are always great fun and a wonderful way to feel a more integral

Rave at The Cave

Kahu Youth is proud to open ‘The Cave’ our new youth space located in the basement of the Lake Hāwea Community Centre (LHCC). To celebrate we want to welcome the community to come check out the new space at our opening party! There will be awesome entertainment, DJ, free BBQ and lots of fun activities for youth.

The Cave is an extension of Kahu Youth’s services; quality youth development programmes in safe environments for youth to grow, learn and have fun. The Cave is open for youth 11yrs+ to drop-in on Thursdays from 3.30 - 6.00pm starting 16 Feb. The Cave o ers a multitude of activities including arts and crafts, football, video and board games,

Submitted by Anna Sutherland sports, and more! It is fully supervised by Youth Development Workers, who are available to youth if they need a bit of extra support.

Kahu Youth Seeks Experienced Youth Development Worker

About us: Kahu Youth’s vision is for all rangatahi (youth) to live their best lives. We provide safe spaces where rangatahi can hangout, learn and have fun!! Our youth development programmes offer fun and unique experiences and opportunities for rangatahi to grow their strengths, resilience and self-worth alongside their friends.

About the role: We are seeking an experienced Youth Development Worker to be a champion for rangatahi and to support our Youth Development Work including; mentoring, after school programmes, school holiday programmes and drop-in sessions.

Hours: Full-time, 40hrs per week. Mon through Thur 10am - 6pm, Fri 12pm - 8pm.
