FACES& PLACES PRE-EVENT KICKOFF The Southern Westchester Food & Wine Festival (SoWe) hosted its first kickoff event Aug. 21 at Mercedes-Benz of White Plains. The event was a preview of the festival that will take place Sept. 19-21 throughout Westchester County. A wine-tasting and food-pairing seminar was hosted by Wine Enthusiast’s Executive Editor Susan Kostrzewa. The evening included food from Alex Ghee, executive chef of RiverMarket, and chef Jay Lippin of Crabtree’s Kittle House. Also attending the event were representatives from SoWe beneficiaries the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Scarsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Photographs by Corey Baumer
