Cool, damp weather and soggy, muddy grounds did not stop some 150 Lookout area residents from participating in a “jam session”
held on Saturday, November 17. The session hosted by the Town of Pelham and recreational facilities design firm Bienenstock gave residents an opportunity to provide input on what features they would like incorporated into the future de-
velopments of Weiland Heights Park and Lookout Park. Many residents were expecting displays of natural play spaces the company has designed in the past, but instead Bienenstock came in with a “blank slate” for the resi-

HE FIR ST THING that strikes you upon entering the arena is the faint rumble, like car tires crossing corrugated safety strips. It does nothing to prepare you for what awaits when you enter the Forest City Velodrome in London, Ontario. An oval bicycle racing track, just 133 metres around, is jammed into the arena. The "flat" straightaways, banked at 17%, rise from the concrete arena floor to the fourth row of bleachers in their 10-metre width. The corners, banked at 50%, reach near-vertically from the floor to the top row of remaining seats.
