Sharon Flagg and her family can finally begin to move on from the accident that shattered their lives more than a year ago. In the early morning hours of April 3, 2015, Sharon’s daughter, Faith, was struck by a car along the north boulevard on Canboro Road between Church Hill and Haist Street. She had been with a group of friends outside a small house party. The vehicle, heading westbound, left the road and struck Faith, then 17, throwing her several meters. An 18-year-old male was struck in the arm trying to pull her to safety. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Anderson
Wormald of Fenwick, continued without stopping. The following morning, a Good Samaritan located his vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment building at the corner of Canboro Road and Balfour Street in Fenwick. Following an investigation, police charged Wormald with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily and Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm. Faith Flagg suffered severe and long-term injury as a result of the accident, which has seriously affected her cognitive functions and has kept her in and out of the hospital for the past 16 months.
