YOUNG GABRIELLA JAMES, the student involved in Monday’s accident at Lodge Village, has already received a clean bill of health. According to Joann James, mother of the 6-year-old , her daughter has been recovering well since her involvement in the accident. James said that she does not fully know what happened on that day, but was happy that her daughter was alive and showing signs of making a full recovery. Reports indicate that Gabriella, a Grade 1 student at the Lodge Village Primary School, was struck by a minivan, owned and operated by Richard Bardoo.
The incident occurred along the main road in Lodge Village sometime around 3p.m. James said that when she got the news, she went directly to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. “I heard that she had died,” she said. But when she got there, she was relieved to find out that her daughter’s condition was not as bad as she was originally left to believe. By the second day, James told THE VINCENTIAN that she took comfort knowing that her daughter’s condition had gotten better.
