Administration of justice demands that the assailants be detained, investigated and some charge be brought against them.” There were other legal options the lawyer said, but she contended that it would be unfair for her client to get justice in that manner.

THIRD PERSON?
WHO WAS THE THIRD ALLEGED ASSAILANT present during a shooting incident here recently? That is the question thrown out by Attorneyat-law Kay Bacchus-Baptiste to Commissioner of Police (CoP) Colin John. Bacchus-Baptiste, legal counsel to Cornelius John — the man who was shot during the incident that occurred on April 13 - included this in a series of questions which was sent to the CoP via a letter dated May 4. To date, response from the CoP and others to whom the latter was copied, have not been forthcoming however. And according to Bacchus-Baptiste, while speaking at a press briefing on May 21, she was still waiting to find out the identity of that third person. “I have information as to who it might be, but there’s no reason for the Commissioner of Police to be hiding this person,” Bacchus-Baptiste said. She posited, “I ask myself whether he appeared to have decided to withdraw from the common design that they came there with and that he would be a good witness to support my client’s case. Is that why they are hiding who he is?” As far as Bacchus-Baptiste was concerned the issue was a public matter now and that justice demanded that the public know who the third person was in order that that person could be interviewed. John, in recounting the ordeal of April 13, said that three individuals entered his yard, two men and one woman. He said that the unidentified assailant came and stood behind him and showed his disapproval after being shot in the leg. The third person then left the compound, John said.
