This November 3rd, in the general election, town residents will vote for Town Supervisor, among other offices and measures. A couple of long time town residents are in the competition for the office. Both men grew up in town, have similar backgrounds, have supervisory experience, served in other public positions, and have a deep love for this community. John Burrell is the current Town Supervisor and is running for reelection, and Matt McAndrew is running for the office for the first time. As the clock ticks the changes become more and more evident and to anyone who hasn’t been here or heard of the alterations in this town and village, they become disoriented, especially if they expected it to be nearly the same as they left it. One staple place that eluded change for quite a while has been the Kelly House Lodge on East Washington Street, located across from the Elizabeth Street junction. In the infancy of its metamorphoses, the now EVL Lodge has some news to share. On Wed, 09/09/2015 - 7:30pm. Museum Curator of the Eldred World War II Museum, Steve Appleby, will speaking on the Museum with discussion to follow. The museum has it’s location in Eldred PA because of a munitions plant that was operated there during the War. Approximately 1500 people worked in this facility at the time of the war.....

Superintendent’s Report At the ECS board meeting, Tuesday night Superintendent Mark Ward gave an update on the Capital Improvement Project. He said that although the past few weeks have been “crazy” the project is coming along well. Falling Leaves Regatta

Annual Event takes place on September 11-13th in Hinsdale NY

On Saturday an amateur dice run regatta will be held with any form of motorless boat, running the Ischua Creek (Behind The Ischua Town Barn). & SR 16 to behind the Hinsdale American Legion (approx 7.0 miles). There will be five pit stops with free beverages at each stop followed by a chicken bbq. Transportation will be provided to all entrants. Ample camping will be available on the Legion grounds along the creek. Live music/DJ will be provided in the pavilion. On Saturday, September 12th, there will be a breakfast buffet in the American Legion. Prizes: Cash and/or trophy awards will be given. Camping : Camping at $45.00 per site (2 vehicles per site). All proceeds will go to support the Hinsdale American Legion, Son’s of the American Legion, the Hinsdale & Ischua Vol. Fire Departments and an annual scholarship for a Hinsdale Central School graduating senior.
